How much water should one drink with your shake?

I am asking because....wont to much water maybe flush the nutrients through your system?
Preventing complete absorption?
I know people say u must drink water to increase your metabolism, I think this is connected.

question 2: Why does bodybuilders drink lots of water with their food?
I am referring to cutler saying in his vidio that now he does not need to drink as much water with his meals entering off season. Something he slacks of on in off season

I drink 500ml's of water after every meal i have so that's 9 * 500 4.5l of water per day excluding water drunk at gym and at night.

You guys might think I'm crazy,but i know how to achieve greatness.

Just remember tap water is filled with toxins, so try drink bottled water, some are better than others.

i dont know your stats if you are a monster pumped,but i would say upwards of 5liters of water per day is a lot of stress on your kidneys, surely being counter productive?

Something i heard from a doctor:
Make sure the water is not cold water of you having it after a meal... as any fats would have eaten get "frozen" and can cause colon cancer.

Give it a shot, you're only TESTing it...

I think the whole cancer thing applies to anything that is a shock to your system, in that case it is the coldness.
Bicycle dudes get cancer from all te sitting on the seats
I read a study where it was proved that people that drink very hot green tea are inclined to throat cancer..

all of these are related to stress to that area of your body
so..I dont think cold water is that bad, it decreases your rate of metabolising some stuff (am I wrong?) so why is that a bad thing?

frozen? i think thats a load of shit! have u ever taken hot oil and added it to cold water and see it freeze? thats aload of shit!also cold water when it gets into the gut will eventually heat up again as your stomach acid is warm,your internal body temperature is warm,so it does cool that down but the body heats it up again.so this "FROZEN FAT" will melt when getting digested in stomach acids...come on common sense people

Not to be funny, but it makes no difference when you drink water, eg: drinking water after eating something cold or hot makes no difference what so ever. It was a old theory that was proved wrong saying drinking water after a meal is a bad thing.

One thing I have learnt about 'fact' is a 'fact' is nothing more than a current opinion. Do you know how many facts existed and no longer apply?

MD's stating baby formula was better than breast milk for children now the opposite is true.

Milk to coat the stomach to prevent ulcers, now its proved it causes ulcers

Eggs where considered bad and high of cholestrol, now its shown they not bad and healthy for the body.

Magarine was the shit, now it's proved that 'fact' is wrong and butter is healthier.

Chocolate causing acne, now its doesn't contribute in any way.

Medican Science had evidence that removing appendix and tonsils improved health and everyone could benefit, now the medical community has reversed that theory.

Another one, fats make you fat now its proved that carbs make you fat, and fats are actually good for your heart, etc.

So, bottom line is, do your own research and make your own 'facts'. Just because someone tells you something over and over doesn't mean that its fact. There is so much misconception in the world of steroids it's scary. And just because XYZ said it, then John Doe and Tom, Dick and Harry doesn't make what XYZ said to be true.

Uh bro... fats do make you fat... IF it's the wrong kinds of fats. It's a bit general to state that fats are actually good for your heart... We all know the benefits of good fats, but shouldn't confuse or throw our mono / poly fats under the same blanket as your saturated and trans fats... coz these ARE actually bad for you and WILL make you fat.

Haha - and yes - i include a limited amount of Saturated fats as good as well. Hormone production needs them.

China I'm merely pointing out the fact that you yourself made, that facts and statements shouldn't be merely accepted as the only truth untill a bit of common sense and proper research is put into it (remember, that's exactly what you said in your original post...) Many of the "incorrect facts" that you listed have diferent points of views, not only from the layman, but from the medical field. It's dangerous to generalise and make statements before considering all aspects involved, like the uninformed reader who could have joined your forum today hoping to learn a bit here and there...

No, hormone production doesn't NEED them. Monounsaturated fats increases hormone levels significantly as well.

Have to agree that you need some bad fats in your diet to help with test levels. Opinions I collected.
Arnold preached that mayonaise should be in your diet and it has been proven that he was right, maybe somebody can post the proof.
Same reason why u need some egg yolks in your diet.

I have never read of any connections between monos and hormones though, only connected with breaking down your fat, feedback?

There are plenty other articles, journals, studies on this. Here's the jist of this one though...

Your life hormones are very important to overall body regulation and function. When these hormone levels decline, we slip slowly into the downward spiral of aging. But boosting these life hormones can drastically increase the quality of our lives. Aging is inevitable, but looking and feeling old is optional.

Step 2
Forget the Low Fat Myth. Penn State conducted a study looking at the issues of Hormones and Fat intake. They found that subjects who ate a moderate fat diet exhibited higher testosterone levels than the subjects eating low fat - this finding merely confirmed previous studies demonstrating that dietary fat is positively linked with hormone levels.

More impressively, the Penn State researchers showed that the effect of dietary fat on hormone levels depended on the kind of fat consumed. Specifically, they found that monounsaturated and saturated fat raised testosterone levels, but polyunsaturated fat does not.

Other studies confirm these results. For instance, in a 2005 study, "39 middle-aged white, healthy men (50 to 60 yr) were studied while they were consuming their usual high fat, low carbohydrate diet and after 8 weeks modulation to an isocaloric low fat, high carbohydrate diet. The results of the dietary change were a reduction in total Testosterone and free Testosterone and some of the Testosterone precursors."

The researchers concluded, "metabolic clearance rates of Testosterone were not changed and production rates of Testosterone showed a downward trend while on low fat diet modulation. We conclude that reduction in dietary fat intake (and increase in carbohydrate) results in 12% consistent lowering of circulating androgens levels without changing the clearance."

A 1984 study had similar results. The possible effect of dietary fat content and the ratio of polyunsaturated to saturated fatty acids (P/S-ratio) on serum sex hormones was studied in 30 healthy male volunteers. The customary diet of the subjects, which supplied 40% of energy as fat (mainly from animal sources, P/S-ratio 0.15) was replaced for a 6 weeks period by a practically isocaloric experimental diet containing significantly less fat (25% of energy) with a higher P/S-ratio (1.22) and other environmental factors were stabilized.

As a result of the dietary change, there was a 15% drop in total Testosterone, with corresponding drops in Free Test and androstenedione. The researchers concluded that the results indicate that a decrease in dietary fat content and an increase in the degree of unsaturation of fatty acids reduce the serum concentrations of androstenedione, testosterone, and free testosterone.

An interesting 1987 study put men on a high-fat diet (about 50 percent of calories from fat) for 2 weeks, then had them switch to a low-fat diet (about 10 percent fat) for 2 weeks. Their free testosterone--the part that's available for use in building muscle--dropped 21 percent on the low-fat diet.

The overall consensus of these studies and others that could be cited is that low fat diets lower total testosterone and/or free testosterone levels while a moderate to high fat diet raises testosterone levels. This shows that despite the anti-fat message we're bombarded with, it turns out that diets too low in dietary fat are actually harmful to healthy testosterone levels. It is also important to realize not just any fat, but saturated fatty acids (SFA) and monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) raise testosterone levels. Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) do not.

As such, restricting total fat intake--and replacing saturated fat with polyunsaturated fat (exactly what the experts are telling you to do)--would appear to be the perfect prescription for lowering your testosterone levels, thus causing premature aging.

However, it is not necessary to consume a lot of saturated fat. Research shows that men with the highest testosterone levels eat nuts. Yes, monounsaturated fat seems to increase hormone levels, so include nuts, olive oil, canola oil, and peanut butter in your Rejuvenation diets.
Foods high in healthy Omega 3s fatty acids would also be good sources of testosterone-raising fat. The best sources of omega 3s are fatty fish like mackerel, herrings, sardines, tuna, sturgeon, and salmon. But they are also found in plant foods like walnuts, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, flax seed oil, and canola oil. Keep your consumption of fat--preferably in the form of monounsaturates and omega-3s--up around 35-40 percent, the amount research shows to be optimal for robust testosterone levels.

We can point the so called "Experts" and their low fat propagandists to Penn State studies that show that a high fat, low carbohydrate diet reduced the risk of heart disease by 21%, while a low fat diet reduced it by only 12%; effectively demonstrating that a high fat diet could be the most heart-protective of all. So it is possible to have a healthy, moderate fat diet that increases your energy levels, builds muscle, burns fat, and increases your quality of life.

Nah, you had good info and a good point. You were just to aggresive in presenting them.

So, can one drink to much water with your shake? Will it have any influence on the digestion of the protein?

I force the water down bro.But surely drinking more water will cause your kidneys to function better because they are flushing out the crap toxins from your body better and faster with more water. Is this theory correct?
