Intermittent Fasting was created by DC EVO
Hey All,

Just doing some research on how to help some more of my clients who consistently struggle to eat breakfast and am toying with the principals of intermittent fasting.

Have any of you tried this? Had good results with it?

It seems to go against a lot of the principals I practice through the likes of John Berardi but as well all know there is more than one way to skin a cat!

Cheers

EVO

There was a thread here a few months ago which got a lot of hate due to the revolutionary ideas behind it, but its a very effective training diet. Currently doing a bit of an IF sort of diet due to Ramadaan but instead of a 16 hour fast I'm doing a 12 hour one, 2 weeks in and I've maintained my bw and dropped an inch around my waist. Search for "warrior diet"

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

Thanks Deadgoat - I will have to search for that thread tomorrow.

I wasn't aware IF was revolutionary idea wise as I thought it had been around for donkeys years. I know that again the likes of Berardi experiment with 24hr fasts, and also other top coaches like Eric Cressey rate the 16/8 approach and both have their applications under certain circumstances. Obviously not for everyone, an athlete training intensely would be the wrong person to go on this but would def suit others.

Good luck with the rest of Ramadaan, half way there bud!

Thanks man, it wasn't really the IF that got the hate but the warrior diet which was the main topic of the thread, there was a link with "top 10 diet myths debunked" and quite a few of those myths were hard to accept as not true

I tried warrior diet for a while. I really did like it but after a month and a bit results slowed down (normal i know) but on top of that i started to feel pap and out of energy, but i think i started to slip up every so often which was probably why. I stuck to it diligently until the end and it did work. Not for everyone though.

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

Thanks Chapel - I had a read through of the warrior diet and the thread on here related to it, some interesting stuff.

I think the problem with the thread relating to it was the guy RnR seemed to go about it all the wrong way, he was like an abortion clinic trying to sell to the catholic church. There are a lot of folks on here who have been doing something a certain way for a long time and have great results that way and it will always be hard to sway them into another way. Like trying to sell adidas to an asics runner! Why try and fix something that isn't broken!

At the same time though there are a lot of people who that doesnt work for, often its just excuses but everything should be tailored to the individual rather than other way so if that doesnt work, another approach is needed.

I think the prudent thing would be for me to take a voyage on IF 16/8 rather than Warrior - as that is more suited to the kind of problems i come up against with my clients.

You're probably right with your attempts at the warrior diet, like anything if you're not consistent then the results will slow and suffer.
Did you use any other supplements during the diet to suppress appetite, preserve muscle mass etc?

I am going to give IF a shot, liked its layout more than the WD but had already started (with WD)..

Just my normal stack Jack3d, whey, creatine and then i added in the BCAA's for pre and intra training and sometimes to sip on during the day just to be sure i wasn't going to lose too much :)

I actually stayed within 1-2kgs of my starting weight the whole time, just lost fat and maintained lean mass i guess (taboo topic), but my experience with it.

Awesome :) funny how steroids are taboo in most open circles but on here it's obviously about education but something that goes against the grain like IF becomes taboo. The more I read, the more pro's i see using IF either in 24 or 16/8 style, not only using it but enjoying it, getting good results and validating the science behind it - Cressey, Starnes, Berardi, Romainello, Venuto, Gentilcore list goes on!

I may start this weekend, the thought of eating a load of carbs at my evening meal is almost too good to turn down!
