Chicken Breasts was created by CHAPEL
This is for the Cape Town guys,

I came across an add in the paper a week or two ago for a large frozen storage factory that has a little outlet where they sell their stuff.

Chicken breasts are R59 per 2kgs, the next cheapest I could find was pnp at R35/ 1kg, my butcher has upped his prices to over R40. Hence why I am looking elsewhere, being a student sucks ass.

There is mince as well. If you are brave enough. Its about R25/ 1kg. They also have peas at R5/ 400gr hahaha, and potatoes.

Its obviously not going to be woolworths quality, but hey deal with it.

The chicken breasts come in a large frozen 2kg bag which is a bitch to defrost so i was forced to (after taking a hammer to the bag, literally) bung about 1.2kgs into a pot. Weight afterwards was 850gr. Taste was fine, was a bit chewy, but i think this may have been from boiling it.

So if any of you are looking for cheap chicken, hey its worth a shot.

Its in Capricorn park, by Marina Da Gama. Its by the PnP just down by the bottle store.

good stuff, cheers!

Ya i can still get my mince at my butcher, that price is about R42/kg and I honestly don't want to eat mince for R25/kg. I will take a photo of it later. Bought 400gr just to try. Plus i don't eat mince often due to fat content.

That is a lekker chicken breast price though VonD, I'm off to go make friends with a butcher ;) I have a friend whose grand parents own a poultry farm, they do eggs and i think they slaughter the chickens as well. Think its about time i harassed him.

Hi Chapel,

The breasts are well priced. Don't suppose you have the factory's tel number or name?

I buy from a place on the Onderstepoort road, just pass the Hebron road, there is a chicken farms on the right hand side. Don't know the name or the number :silly:

They do bulk packaging for supermarkets and the whole slaughtering and meat / piece processing happens there. You knock on the door with a stick :woohoo: They open and you place your order. After about 10 minutes you get your package

I usually buy 5kg of Chicken breast from them- no fat, skin or bones and they charge R170 for that. The fillets are still warm and fresh. Most important- very clean and packed in a nice bag.

Pump if you're interested I'll get you a 5kg as well and let my driver drop it for you in JHB? Just let me know.

Hi Kyle

Yes no problem. Ask Admin for my details and mail me your delivery address. We can sort everything from there.

For the Cape Town guys.

There’s a place in Epping 2 called A1 Hyper Chickens. Fresh breast on the bone: R19.90/kg, fresh fillet R36.90/kg. Then there’s the frozen on the bone for 17.99. Comes in a 6-7 kg bag. Also frozen fillets for R23.99/kg
