Keto and Bad Breath was created by MCJ
Hey guys.

Anyone had this problem before? Done a bit of searching on google and see that this is a "side effect" of a keto diet. Walking around with stimerol's the whole day (no sugar, sucralose). Brushing also doesn't really help for very long. Suppose drinking a raw egg shake doesn't really help much either. Becoming very self conscious about this.

No I don't have any cavities or even any fillings.

Yea it sucks. As you start to use fat for energy your body produces "ketones" that makes the smell. Does your urine smell as well? Try fisherman's friend, it's very strong stuff. Also up your water intake, a dry mouth is a stinky mouth :)

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

I wouldn't be drinking raw egg bud, salmonella.

The protein content is better adsorbed if you cook it (denature it) first, so unless you're doing this because you're in a rush, you're losing out on bioavailability

Sorry if I offend you
Its just my point of view

Forgive me if my next statement is totally wrong. I know eggs and fish aren't the same, but does this mean protein from let's say...Salmon Sashimi is absorbed less than the same amount of salmon if cooked?

Thanx for that inja. Most research studies seem to indicate that only about 50% of protein is absorbed in raw eggs compare to cooked eggs.

Didn't know that. Still want to know if this also applies to other forms like Sushi?

If we are talking about the protein content exclusively then yes, cooking any protein denatures it and makes it easier for digest and adsorb.
The cooking process will however also effect the health of the food depending what you do eg: boiling leaches out minerals, overheating affects healthy fats, etc...
