I'm not so clued up on this whole keto thing so bare with me. I gather there's different ways one can go about a keto diet. One way that attracted me was 3 days with no carbs and then normal carb intake on the 4th day, then the cycle resets . Would this be a good way of going about it? Are muscle gains restricted when on a keto diet if protein consumption is still high? Any tips or input would be welcome, thanks.

Too much protein will knock you out of ketosis through glucogenesis,3 days with no carbs isn't long enough for ketosis,I would go 2 full weeks with 0 carbs, and then 1 3 hour carb up on a weekend untill you are below 13% body fat. No major muscle gains bud.

In that 3-hour period you can have your cheat meal, but have to do it al within that 3-hour period.Use that window period wisely, have a burger or 2 or even 3 :P . After that you go back on the diet.Preferably do it a day before you hit legs/back.

Understood, now in terms of protein and fats, what should I be looking at, 1g per pound protein? 0.5g per pound fat? How long can one stay on this type of diet?

Usually 1.25g of protein per LB of lean body mass, so 2.75g of protein per kg og lean body mass, and 0.5g of fat per pound of lean body mass,so 1.1g of fat per kg of lean body mass.
