Howsit all..

So I am struggling a little with the carbs.. As the title suggests, mashed potatoes, how good or bad are they on a bulk?

Obviously not your conventional type of mash, I am not going to pile milk or butter into it. Its a lot of starch and the GI isn't great but for some reason there isn't any definitive stuff online wtr to mash for bodybuilding specifically..

The rice is whats killing me, baked potatoes aren't too bad and mash is just so easy to make in bulk form so would be convenient.

So any feed back on its quality/use for bulking would be great. Doubt its going to be too positive but hey ;)

Good stuff, thanks.

I see no problem with potatoe's wether you boil, bake or mash it. But a mashed potatoe by it self is gona be very dry and clumpy. You can look at adding a 100ml fat free milk to say 500g mashed potatoe. You'll raise the over all calorie content with 3.5g protein and 5g carbs which is small. Plus your bulking so the extra calories won't hurt.

But prefer mash sweet potatoe, just mash the sweet potatoe with a little water and its perfect and yummy. PLus i find sweet potaatoe not to be so dry either.

Mash my potato and sweet pot and mix it together, only use water to mash it. Doesn't come out dry and I don't see the problem with it being mash.

Howzit Chapel,

For a change I cut the potato's into wedges and bake with some potato spice.

Find it much easier to eat a couple wedges quickly with my chicken!
