Okay, so carbs are classified as:
Starches,sugars and fiber
Fibre is used on keto because it doesnt really spike insulin right?
I bought a bread the other day called "evening bread" with about 7.9g carbohydrates. But it also says 10.7g fibre. Now my friend is on keto and he is allowed 30g carbs daily. Could he eat this? And does this actuallly equal 18.6g carbs in your daily amount? Should you count fibre towards your daily carb amount?

fiber doesnt spike insulin at all,it keeps your bowels moving,most carb sources contain fiber hence the reason you stay regular,now when you are on a keto diet you lack fiber hence u need to add it in,

with keto u are not supposed to have ANY direct source of carbs so there goes your bread, u will find the carb content of the break 8 of active carbs and 10.7g of additional fiber,so its about 17g of carbs. but the problem lies is that in your whey protein there is carbs,in your nuts there are carbs so he is more than likely be knocked out of ketosis.

no fiber isnt counted towards your carb allowance for the day.

Wow okay thanks. Now what if you dont meet your daily 80% of fats? Will that knock you out of ketosis as well?
I read that mct's arent that good for keto but i dont know why? Could you explain this?

Also, how long is it safe to be on keto, wont all the fats start giving you cholesterol problems?

no as long as you arent over doing the protein then u wont get knocked out of ketosis if you dont have all the fats for the day, mcts are needed, all the work u are doing is low intensity so u dont need MCT oils.

as long as you are having heart healthy fats,mono unsaturated fats,poly unsaturated fats etc from healthy sources then u should be fine, if u are worried about cholesterol have lecathin and niacin in your supplement range.

Thanks again. Is it true that ketosis is muscle sparing and you can even gain muscle with it?

Now the first week for keto is 20% protein,80% fat. Could you change these macros to say 30% P and 70% F woithout getting knocked out?

Are there any other ways to determine if you are in keto other than ketostix?

i wouldnt go so high as that with fat and protein, 40% protein 60% fat is fine. to put on muscle you need carbs, u might gain a little but carbs are needed for maximum muscle growth. u will feel u are in ketosis, you will feel full of energy and wont need ketostix.
