I.m.o the normal GTI is a much nicer driving experience and much better for those that push the car to its limit. If you go for the polo GTI then you will by no means be disappointed. Just always keep a sharp eye on those finance contracts- there are some shrewed rats out there! Definately get a software remap for those turbos you will not believe the difference!

Sweet thanks Pyro. Almost went BMW but then common sense prevailed and won the day lol. With regards to software, the polo won't make as much as 30kw as its already tuned to the max but guys are getting around 15kw or so. I am running a unitronic stage 1+ map on my car. Went unitronic over Revo based on price and haven't looked back. Also very reputable tuner. My car standard makes 173kw at the fly wheel and 300nm of torque. That's roughly 155kw and 280 nm at the wheels (wheel power is what counts not flywheel as the manufacturer advertises). After map around 190kw and 385nm at the wheels. Feels awesomePyroclasm wrote: Loving your posts Ice-Rip! ice-rip wrote: Had the polo gti 1.4 dsg last year. You will never get 5.9l/100km so forget that. The car is twin charged with a supercharger and a turbo so turbo lag is almost non existent. Who would thought a 132kw was possible from a 1400 motor. Just on the sunroof. Two guys from the vw forums were just driving along and their sunroofs just exploded. Just like that. No stone hitting it, nothing. That's supposed to be shatterprufe tempered glass too but they had bits and pieces all over them. So sunroof on a polo seems like a factory issue. Overall though u will really enjoy the car if dsg is ur thing. Me, I'm old school and like manual. That was one of the reasons I sold her. Oh and no launch control on this box but some of the tuners are developing software for it
