Lance Armstrong & EPO was created by Colt
There is a very interesting, 2 part documentary, about Lance Armstrong on DSTV at the moment.

I watched part 1 last night.

Very interesting. And also the part about EPO doping.

Is EPO also something that bodybuilders do / use ?

shot answer,

yes i have heard of a few guys that have used it, however its definitely something you do not want to try. Too many variables to control when using it. Water, blood, etc its a long list. Mostly you need to be medically supervised when on it. High risk of stroking out.

Leave it for the PRO's.

I stand corrected

EPO has no major benefits for bodybuilding. It's for endurance, so crossfit maybe yes. We don't need anything on top of the steroids we're taking to thicken our blood more. Very dangerous combo for your heart.

Makes 100% sense. Never thought of it that way.

I can maybe picture this, when doing world champs, for that extra edge in the last week before competition.

But only then. What you say about the bloods, makes 100% sense.

Makes sense. Bodybuilding, versus endurance and crossfit, 2 very different sports.

It's quite amazing how one commentator described the Tour de France. It is like running a marathon ... but every day, for 3 weeks continous. Tomorrow you get up, and do it again. Endurance.

Agreed on this one. I've heard from some bodybuilder on YouTube speak about EPO and to stay far far away from it. However I've heard that some pro MMA fighters used it during their prep.

On YouTube there are videos where Dave Pulumbo talks about it, if I recall he's summation was stay away from it. There is no need for it in Bodybuilding. Although he does say some Pro's use it.

In MMA in makes sense, before a fight for example. The one commentator tried to explain in in laymens terms.
I'm trying to remember his words - he said something like, you have to do a 100 mile race, with the top athletes finishing 2 miles ahead of the group.
But when you take EPO, you will finish 10 miles ahead of the group. It roughtly gives you that 10% extra endurance above the rest.

Now, if you look at fighting, may it be boxing, MMA, etc., those fighters have to be very very fit. Just being the fittest in a fight, sometimes gives you the win advantage.
Now imagine EPO giving you that 10% extra endurance in a fight.

That could just tip the fight / win your way.

Yes, TJ Dillashaw was banned from the UFC last year after using EPO before the Cejudo title fight. Still got smashed.
