It's a misconception that steroids causes Prostate Cancer. It's like saying the Combined oral contraceptive pill causes Endometrial Cancer. It's a risk factor however.
DHT causes BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) and this increases the chance ever so slightly of prostate cancer. BPH causes more problem overall than Prostate cancer ever will in most men.
Prevention is key, there are great natural supplements proven efficacious in reducing 5 alpha reductase activity (Testosterone to DHT conversion), such as Saw Palmnetto. Also if you are 40 and above get a yearly Rectal Exam (uncomfortable but lasts a second) along with a PSA blood test (a lot of data is coming out against the use of PSA however it still gives you an idea of your prostate health).
Hopefully this helps. Be aware of symptoms like Dysuria or hesitency on urination, this is common symptoms in BPH.
