Hi guys, I am on self administered TRT - anyway I have been looking into donating blood & I saw that the questionnaire asks - Q4.5: Have you injected yourself or been injected with bodybuilding drugs, recreational or street drugs. Now i havent injected either of the latter 2 but Test C. My question is if i say yes to this will i be allowed to donate still or should i just say no? id assume they would see how high my iron levels are from the little test they do so i wouldnt be able to lie? whats the best course of action?

Sorry for the trivial question. Id much appreciate the help

Answer truthfully, Have you injected?

You wont be allowed to donate,

Wait until you are off it before going ahead with the blood donating

Self administered TRT bro. So no coming off for the forseeable future atleast - im worried about high RBC & giving blood is the best way to lower. The question being then that they dont allow you to donate if your on cycle and or HRT so if I answer negative ill be able to donate.

The nurse I've spoken to told me that it depends on what's being used, how much is being used and who is administering it.

They won't have a problem with Testosterone at TRT doses, but might have a problem if you use products from UG labs or self-administer because in that case contamination might be a concern.

Make sure you are doing a few things to keep your blood levels healthy in the first place.

Manage iron levels with curcumin and calcium, this blocks absorption and chelates iron in the blood. I have been to donate blood and my iron levels where way to high, couldn't donate.

500mg of inositol before bed aswell to help "thin the blood."

Pinebark extract to lower your RBC and make sure you are doing your cardio to keep things healthy. 90-120mins per week as a health component is going to be perfect for keeping your blood numbers healthy before you even consider doing blood donation and long term helps keep you in check.

You want to be in the trt range of like 1-2mg per kg testosterone dosing for trt to start. At the end of the day, they take men's blood all the time which has testosterone in the blood, but having excess amounts is going to push rbc etc up, and although they wouldn't be able to trace back to you, you want to have sound mind long term knowing you didn't cause any complications with someone receiving the blood. I don't tell them I am on trt.

Oh also alpha lipoic acid at 400mg a day has also been shown to reduce your iron numbers too, so that helps also with blood visocosty.

Thanks Empire! I take 1500mg turmeric every day + a few other things for general health. I do plenty of cardio - both LISS & I train kettlebells 7 days a week so my cardio atleast is alright. Ill look into inositol and ALA. Yes thats why I was worried - not about tracing me but about harming others selfishly. Thank you all for the replies! Im not really sure if my RBC is high but rather safe then sorry, the local SANBS is open only on Mondays & Thursdays so going in tomorrow. I usually inject Sunday morning, Wednesday evening - hoping my RBC isnt through the roof as its likely going to be around 12hours+-after. First time donating aswell :D

1500mg of it is quite a lot unless you are taking plain turmeric capsules, if you were to bring that down to 500mg 2x a day with black pepper corns you will increase absorption by around 2000% according to some studies. Do not dose your curcumin within 2 hours of your work out either, remember you want some inflammation response from the work out to cause the body to repair muscle tissue.

Yeah they are plain turmeric capsules - thats good to know! I eat alot of pepper! I train early morning & only take my turmeric etc at around 3/4pm. Haha - if only my problem was a lack of inflammation!

If your levels of Testosterone or other hormones are elevated it could influence the recipient of the blood. Females can manage with normal levels of testosterones but not elevated levels
You unfortunately can not select the recipient and therefore it is not advised to donate.
Should a pregnant fairy receive increased levels of testosterone via a transfusion it would harm the baby

Think about the recipients of the blood you are donating ....

The question is basically to determine if you inject e.g. recreational drugs like heroin with shared needles... and the associated goggos like Hepatitis

Realistically speaking, 1pt of blood is going to be diluted 8 to 10 times at least. The little extra Test is going be aromatased to Estrogen in women quickly anyway.

It's just ticking boxes and covering themselves. An 18 year old boy will (should) have a much higher Test level than a 65 year old man.

Good judgement comes from experience.
Experience comes from bad judgement.
