You train yourself hard on gear and while your muscles respond well you tendons and other soft tissues are under tremendous strain.
In this case I think your over training your muscles as well though, and since they've seen some heavy damage lately from the cycle the hard knocks and long hour on the field are adding up.
If you can you need to take some time off rugby, not to long but not to short, and train a little lighter in the gym.
If you push yourself too hard post cycle, still feeling like superman from the added muscle, your gonna suffer some liong term damage.
