I will say do cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach or for a second option, after training.

If you are trying to drop bodyfat then the best time for cardio is on an empty stomach in the morning. Then you weight train in the afternoon or night. If you can only train once a day then it is better to do cardio after weights. This is because you do not deplete muscle glycogen prior to training so you can push harder but also means that after glycogen is spent from weights the cardio will burn more fat...

Sorry if I offend you
Its just my point of view

My take on this question is to keep cardio and weight training on seperate days depending on what results you are looking to achieve. 5-10 minutes light cardio before weights just to get the heart rate up and the blood flowing is a must. Anything more and energy levels needed for max. weight training are going to be depleted.

If you hit the weights really hard, have a really good 45 minute workout who really has energy and time for cardio? Another 20 min of light cardio ends up keeping you in the gym for over an hour.

If you keep the cardio on their own days the amount of time you can spend doing it is longer buit you should limit it to approx. 40-50 minutes. In this period of time you can increase/decrease your heart rate over and over. Keeping cardio on seperate days also lets your muscles recover longer after the weight training sessions. I try and do cardio every other day and really give it stick. I find that my efforts after a really good weight session are weak. A really good cardio session burns tons of calories.

Well naughty stuff counts as cardio too :silly:...but seriously the only other thing I can think of is aerobics if you're up for it, and if you have a staircase u can do steps otherwise everything else you mentioned probably covers everything

no you wont, cardio uses up free fatty acids as an energy source if all the glycogen is used up during weight training.
