When does steroid used become steroid abuse, where must one draw the line between them?

I think as long as you stay safe, know everything there is to know about the things you intend on doing and monitor yourself making sure you don't bugger yourself up in the long term, then it's all good :)
abuse to me is going ahead regardless of you're knowledge and stuffing up you're body

I agree with super, the pro's abuse it, but I can understand why, its thier livlihood, their source of income and supporting families, so they gotta keep up with the next guy!

For guys competing and depending on juice for thier livlihoods, its a tough one to call! For guys just wanting to look good, i say use the stuff in moderation, make sure you not fucking your organs and your body up, and maybe do like one cycle a year  or something...that should be fairly safe and give your body time to keep "natural" most of the time.... my 2cents worth...

Abuse = messing up your body and/or life...

If roids are doing you, not the other way round, then its time to make a plan.
(Eg. Depressed without it, living on the elevated personality, can't seem to face a day without juice...)
Just saying.. :)

Hi and I’m back... :)

As stated before... I abused steroids but only because my only goal was to be on top... from a skinny 65kg kid to close on 115kgs by age 23 I knew I could do it but that is when it all went downhill.. My life was sleep, eat, train... I never went out and never touched alcohol or any other toxins, drugs, weed, cigarettes, etc. I simply ate very well and used ‘top quality’ stuff however it was abuse or this wouldn’t have happened. Some people abuse themselves and are lucky, my old training partner is now in his 40’s and still pushing it oo so hard and using slin, GH and juice year round he is now suffering so many problems but will not stop. List of problems, kidney failure, psychological changes, depression, pain in feet (could be slin related) or just too big (circulation) 2 hernias that have burst and now recently a heart attack.

Anyway now my body is damaged I have been off gear for a long time and tried again thinking things had become better and a made good come backs then over this holiday realised it’s never going to happen for me as I’m only back where I was when I was 23... I’m now 27 and it’s too late... I have been damaged since around 23 so stopped doing things properly since around that time if you work out I put on +/- 50 kgs since 17 or 16 it was close on 10kgs a year, yes I couldn’t have carried on growing that same way and during times it slowed down and other times it just shot up however I would have looked impressive to date, only because of 1 reason my discipline while all my friends are having a party i’m only focusing on my goal.

I still have dark blood in my urine and been off this last cycle for a good couple months, I have just told my fiancé that I have decided and I won’t be using gear again... I’m bumped like you can’t believe I have a draw full of stuff that I wish I could just jab right this freaking second... But now it’s more about my own ego than what my actual goal was (to be a pro) my direction is life had to shift and now I have made a success in other aspects of my life however not my number 1 goal. However the bottom line is I don’t see the point now using for personal pride so I will hand in the towel and maybe even use that same dedication I had for those years and put it into natural bodybuilding, hey who knows maybe I even land up in the next few years entering compo’s like that.

So as you all know I will say again, PLEASEEEEEE look after yourself and monitor yourself constantly, I believe anyone who does gear should have a BP monitor at home and test daily... also have monthly urine tests to make sure you not leaking to much protein or microscopic blood being found... Remeber we are all bodybuilders the last thing we want to do is bodydestroying, if you take gear don’t be like half the twats I meet that drink and eat badly and are overweight so more strain on the heart. And make sure you are not using juice for the wrong reasons, what I mean by this is, use it to break through a plataue but don’t for 1 second think you cannot put on weight or get a stunning body without it, that attitude is for lazy people.. As Inja has done he put on weight during PCT, so make sure you have long enough breaks during cycles and stay focused during this time, do not believe that you cannot transform even further when you having a break this is not a time for you to be a doos and land up eating like a bafoon and drinking yourself stupid now is the time to allow your body to recovery from the steroid therapy and clean itself out.

So the truth is the doctors don’t have good news for me but I believe if I keep a 10000000% clean life I hopefully will not end up on dialysis (praying anyway) but as it looks I am clean (no gear no toxins no unhealthy lifestyle) and still pissing dark blood... anyone who suffers from hypertension I would suggest stay far away from gear as I do believe you will get to a state of health that cannot be repaired no matter how much you wish it could. I hear people saying, oh I will just up my dosage of my medication, please don’t be a fool! Think what you are saying, firstly the medication is a drug itself, and that medication is causing other problems, jeah erectile dysfunction and MUCH MORE... Is it worth it not to land up having kids? Hmmm, I don’t know ask your future wife.

So now I will use my knowledge and help people not make the same mistake (even though to me it was not) it was my goal... most top déjà’s abuse drugs and and and... So this is the choice I personally made and will live with the consequences. Now i believe what I stated sums up abuse and is it worth it and use (very close to abuse) and how to live your life.

Thanks for your reply 00pump I am sure by that reply some guy might look at gear in another light.

Did you start using gear at 17 year of age, and can you be more specific as to have you abused gear, did you use high dosages for a long period of time???
I am sure by sharing you will help allot of guys even more. :bow

Hey there, buddy, pal, :) Your looking awefully radiant today! Did I ever tell you what big arms you have? :P

However the bottom line is I don’t see the point now using for personal pride so I will hand in the towel and maybe even use that same dedication I had for those years and put it into natural bodybuilding, hey who knows maybe I even land up in the next few years entering compo’s like that.

I have absolutely no doubt that if you commit to this you could do it. Never give up, never surrender. Just because you can't juice doesn't mean you can't compete. Retain as much mass as you can, and push yourself. You may not go pro, but you can still stand with the best, it'll just be alot harder.

So as you all know I will say again, PLEASEEEEEE look after yourself and monitor yourself constantly, I believe anyone who does gear should have a BP monitor at home and test daily... also have monthly urine tests to make sure you not leaking to much protein or microscopic blood being found...

I like these suggestions. I have a BP monitor got it for R200 is I remember, and I bought some urine strips once. They're piss cheap! So if you guys can afford the prices your spending on gear, invest in these simple health monitoring tools. There is no excuse.

But great post pump. Karma. Are you lowering your total protein intake to try release some of the total stress on your kidneys. I know its not easy as you may sacrifice mass, but it may help.

Sorry if I offend you
Its just my point of view

Hey Inja

Yes I am... Actually working with a natrual doc who is helping me chose my protein and take it at correct times of the day.. I have lost massive gains as dropped protein now as low as 150grams a day maybe even 100grams. However today the urine is clear (vissably) so that shows something is working. Anyway as like anything in life i'm allways down for a challenge so this is a good one..

As they say BP is the silent killer, if I had kept an eye on it from the get go I might have been in a whole different boat today, but one cannot change the past, just learn from it. Thats why I believe that monitor and 'dip sticks' are ideal... Hey I would say going for monthly checks for your sugar levels wouldn't even be a bad idea.. I am not diabetic but I have run up to 10 while on gear and thats high... Doing all these checks just helps you understand your body better and what foods and substances can and will do on your body...

Keep up the juicing just look after your body... It's one thing to be off a cycle but you still pinning HCG or popping Nolva, etc.. Give that body that break it requires after the cycle and clean your body out and watch how it grows on the next cycle...

The bottom line is bodybuilding is freaking awsome and nothing better than having that bar in your hand curling what your conscious mind tells you is not possible, you say fuck that i'm now tapping into 90+% of the brain and telling my subconscious mind what I can do, like Ronnie (light weight baby) tell yourself that enough times and you will shatter your personal records... And the ability to just zone out, you don't think for a second about your problems you just in this trance seeing how far you can press your body and mind to the limit and beyond, its a personal challange because if you cheat you only cheating yourself, thats why the sport rocks in my books!!!! And as we break records and challange ourself the more we want to break records and challenge ourself... Read that last line over and over its a form of hypnosis and will help you do just that....

Want to get BP monitor and some of those strip things month end.

Pump, just wanted to ask a few Q's

If you got/get any pain in the kidney region ?
What to ask Chemist when ordering those strips and what do the strips actually tell you.
Also your fluid intake is how much at the mo?

BB_Guy

1) I have no pain in my kidney area, I have had and do get but not now and still the dark urine the damage came from a time when I had severe pain (i'm guessing) had to lie on my back most of the time, it was a harsh cycle with anadrol at 150mg a day.
2) You tell them you need to get dip sticks that can determine if their is protein and/or blood in the urine, its not accurate like the machine but after you piss on it you hold it up next to the bottle and it shows you a colour chart and you can see to a point what is going on.
3) I drink 12+ glasses of water a day.
