Long distance runners' diets are usually high in carbs. I know a couple who swear by their B12 and B Complex injections for energy.

If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.

I just don't understand how you could have finished 3 comrades marathons I would have though you would understand something about nutrition and training.

I'm not the best person for this type of help, but I know a few people that have run half marathons and ate correctly.

Ok, lets start off, why are you struggling to train and why did you pull out, cramps?

What do you have to do to qualify, run a 21km or half a marathon? 3 weeks is pushing it to try anything new when is comrades again? what are you trying to achieve, extra endurance / more oxygen ? What is your bodyfat?

Please give us as much info as possible so others can try to help. I don't believe supplements are what you need, maybe some protein and fish oils even some glutamine for recovery but you can't use any funny stuff that might show up if you get tested.
