So today I visited my local Dischem for some Dischem Omega 3 softgels (R180 for 365 = bargain!) and happen to go through the supplements isle, love to check what crazy prices the "folk" pay for supps I buy online for 80% of the price...

...when a conversation between a guy (maybe 21 y.o) and said "advisor" caught my attention

The guy (very skinny) asked what would be the best supplements to take to get him from 72kg to 85kg in 6 months. The advisor asked him how many times a day he's eating to which he replied 3 times. Advisor said "no problem"...just take optimum anabolic shake twice a day, zma capsules, no explode, muscletech celltech (omf) and usn test booster and you'll get 12kg in a month...guy asked if optimum anabolic wont make him fat to which the advisor said, "no it will only build quality muscle"...the guy proceeded to take everything and walked to the till...

I stopped him just before he got there and said he must put everything down and run...wrote him down a couple of websites were he can get info + buy supps and sent him on his way...its really shocking how these "advisors" would sell you anything as long as they make a profit...

sales people... tsk tsk..

must be tough selling supplements to people when you know that if you had to be really honest and you would really end up saying..."Bro...with the right diet and the right work out you don`t need 90% of the the supplements on the shelves"...but...hey...some people need to make a living so its up to the consumer to not be even more stupid and do some basic research before hitting the shops or the gym. Hahaha i love going to dischem especially the one at princess crossing Roodepoort. always like 6 reps in the isle that dont know shit. I will be suprised if they know what the differences is between creatine from glutamine. I heard also same kind of shit, the oked sold the schoolboy whey protein from evox and said drink it 3 times a day and you will pick up lean mass en get toned and ripped like shit.

Stay on your current diet it is like adding 3 new meals. Size wise expect to pick up at least 4 kg and drop bf. with 2 months supply of whey?

The advisor at my nearest dischem is really really honest... Never heard any BS from him ever.

When a school laaitie asks him for advice, he always says to get your diet in check FIRST, adding some whey to help the diet isn't a bad idea... Something like that.
Really honest dude.
And its nice to ask him which flavour is best, because he's probably tried every supp on that shelf!!!

Dream BIG, one Rep at a time.

exactly nerd. Dont get me wrong i am not dissing the reps. Like i say everybody has to earn to buy a chappie and a bread the end of the month. As i seen that same rep with the shit advise doesnt work there anymore, and some of the okes there really now what works and not. Giving the best value for money. And what tastes the best haha

But i got a much better place to buy the supps (costing wise), convenient close to my gym in westrand.

Off topic, but has anyone noticed Dischem isn't selling needles anymore, or am I just unlucky on the ones I'm going to?

If you listen to the guys at Dischem , you'd walk out of there with R3,000 of supps everytime you visit.
And they always saying I use this preworkout and this postworkout, this to boost test, this for recovery, this for sleep, this for energy, this for performance, this to help me talk shit-I'm thinking they're paying pretty good salaries or giving a lot of free shit to reps these days.

Why would you buy needles there, they are shit expensive, like R4 for a 22g needle. It adds up in the end, costing you much more.

On the topic of supplements, for Pta guys that don't order from basicsupplements, a new supplement shop opened at the Montana Crossings Centre in Zambesi drive, next to Mike's Kitchen. It's called Ultimate Supplement Warehouse and stocks the whole supplement range with very reasonable prices.

If everybody does it, is it still cheating?

And they can't scan them, so have to punch in the bar code for each individual package, while you stand there looking like a goddam junkie :)
The orange or brown are the ones I'm lookinng for, you could get them at any one, now you can only get 23g, and some you can't get anything

Just buy a few at a time, otherwise you'll stand at the till for half an hour while they ring up each pack individually

I've decided to raise the price, since its world cup time...there is money to be made lol ;)

Anyways, the needles usually come in a box when they receive stock so maybe see if you can ask the pharamacist for an entire box if possible
