Have to Envy you:(

I want a Mac. . . I'll even settle for an iPhone. If everyone on the forum pools some money together, we can make that work!

Ok. Seriously now, as a programmer. Operating system: If you have the money, get yourself a Mac. You cant go wrong with that, but it does depend on what you want it for. If you are going to settle for windows, go for windows 7, the attempt to keep up with Apple is impressive. It is a 'smarter' operating system. As far as Microsoft goes, it is revolutionary. Go for the 32 bit. I use 64 bit at work, and a lot of programs/games tend to bomb out.

If you have about 23 hours a day of spare time, go for Linux:) I wont lie, I really like Linux because it is like the nephew of Mac. . . If only I had the time.

Browsers: Safari is Excellent all round. The next one on the line for speed would be Google Chrome.
