Ovidrel dosage and practical considerations

Hi guys,

I'm planning on using 250IU's of HCG, twice per week, during my cycle - stopping 2 weeks before my last injection.

So I have the local form of Ovidrel - 2 vials, powder and 1ml of sterile water.

The plan is to inject the water into the powder and use as needed for 25 days.

The 1ml mix should be 6500iu's of HCG. 250iu's of HCG would be 1/26 = 0.04ml of the mixed soln.

I read on this forum that on a MicroFine insulin pin 10IU's in the synringe is 0.1ml of solution. So am I correct in saying I'd need 4IU's or so in the syringe to get my req. dose of 250IU's of HCG? I haven' seen nor used an insulin pin before - is it practical to measure out such a little amount?

Please help with these newbie questions too:)
- Can I get the MicroFine insulin pin at dischem?
- does the pin come with a syringe?

You will see the Ovidrel box says 250iu's and from what I have read on the product is that the 250 iu's = 10000iu's
I have used this stuff and its strong-the problem comes in dosing because in effect the 1ml of sterile water = 10000iu
so what I do is instead of diluting it more ,I use a 0.5 ml insulin syringe and every mark on the syringe is 100iu's and that should be accurate enough( I was using 500iu's 2x /week and that protocol worked fine )

Got these awesome BC MicroFine PLus 0.5ml insulin syringes from Dischem which did the trick.

Glad to hear that my dosing estimate was correct. Was kinda scary when my two marks worth of the stuff barely even used the syringe.
