Hi guys,

I'm well read on this forum, and I get that I should wait approx 2 weeks after my last pin to start PCT (using dose calculator etc), but my question is what should my free/total T actually be before I start a clomid/nolvadex combo? Is anywhere within the reference range OK to start? Or should I drop below the ref range?

I can afford to have tests done weekly, and I truly want to avoid the disaster I went thro last time of libido SO low that no amount of excitement could get me going (try hanging onto a hot young thing thro that!)

Thanks

It depends what steroids you are taking besides testosterone. A blood test might indicate that you should start PCT since testosterone levels are quite low, but meanwhile you might have high levels of nandrolone/EQ or whatever so PCT would still not be very effective until those levels drop.

If you are only waiting for exogenous testosterone levels to drop then start PCT when your testosterone serum levels are around the upper normal range which is around 900ng/dl total test and free test around 200pg/ml. But results differ from lab to lab so compare your results with the given reference range as well.

It's best to rather start PCT day or 2 too early than a few days too late if you aren't running any orals until PCT.

Where does one go to get your test levels checked out? Just the doc or will a pharmacy be able to do it?

Go to lancet lab. There's one in every clinic (eg life centre Fourways, Sunninghill net care, etc).
Lancets more expensive than ampath BUT they do 2 good things:
E2 is measured specifically. Ampath just say "<74" which is not helpful if u r targeting 10-20
Lancet let u book ur own bloods, and collect them. Ampath insist that results go to a GP, and it can be a ball ache of note getting ur GPs muppet PA to look up the results n give them to u before everything changes again.

HOWEVER, on my last bloods my LH came back as "<0.5" which annoys me a bit cos ampath wud have said 0.3 or whatever. But in truth that's all just so bloody low it doesn't really matter whether it's 0.0 or 0.5.

R750 for LH, FSH, E2, test and test free, and shbg. Around R450 if u drop LH and FSH.

U can do that weekly and the nurses get quite friendly; "why do u take steroids, ur already big" EXACTLY!
