AAS and Depression. was created by Witwolf
As the topic implies. I am on anti-depressants and am wondering whether post cycle depression and working through low testosterone and estrogenic side-effects after a cycle would be too much. Obviously everyone is different and whether depression and/or anxiety is the result of pervasive coping mechanisms or chemical imbalances would be relevant.

Depression and anxiety seems to be a genetic thing in my family. I tried going without medication for 9 months and was adament that I could cope without chemical aid. However in actuality it took me 9 months to get to the point where I, as a young man, could admit that I did in fact need meds (stubborn).

In any case I'm still busy with my own research on the subject but am wondering what the community's opinion is. I have also read that SERMs are quite hectic when it comes to one's mood. I think it's also important to distinguish between short term, long term and permanent side effects.

Obviously my mental health is more important than using AAS.

Witwolf on cycle u will actually feel better and should not take a serious dive when going into PCT and beyond if u stick to your medication as well as pct ...we all differant though so u will have to experiance for your self...but for me personally I dont get effected .

One of my gym partners takes used Wellbutrin. No issues on cycle, but he does take a slight dip 2 weeks into Nolva, but he sucks it up and moves on.

I'm also on wellbutrin so that's good to hear. In all honesty I expect to go through a dip, that's understandable. Just wondering whether, after recovery, my mood would be slightly lower in general than it is now as a result of being on such a "upper" for 10-12 weeks. Depression is as mental as it is physiological. Thinking about these things make me realise I am not ready to do a cycle yet. Which is cool, like someone else said on the forum: "we've got nothing but time in this game". Thanks for the replies

Tamoxifen is contraindicated in Wellbutrin. Ive been reading up on it.

short answer is no... apart from maybe a dip for a week or two or even a couple of days ... while your system adjusts ...u will return to Normal as u are not on a UPPER on cycle ...

Very interesting..... his psychologist knows about his cycles and have not mentioned any contraindication between meds. Any ideas how we can work around the Nolva and possibly add/change the pct format ? See how it goes ? Or suck it up and move on ?

A quick search on the two will bring back many results of interaction warnings. I didn't take too much notice of it since i'm on TRT. Good idea for someone to do research since the SSRI/Tamoxifen interaction list is long.

Would also like to know. Can you also add some links to where we can read about these things?

I'm on Wellbutrin and Depramil 40 and in the evenings I take cloment and zanor to aid in sleep. Have never really experienced any bad post cycle depression besides the odd day when I feel weaker in gym but that's just in the mind. Have been on this cocktail for 3 years now and has made a huge difference.

Thanks for the reply MCJ! I'm on Wellbutrin, and in the evenings I take seroquel and mirtazipine (can't sleep without meds). This mix of meds will change except for the wellbutrin (I must say the Wellbutrin has probably been the best thing that has happened to me in the last 4 years). Will probably just wait till my meds are completely sorted before doing a cycle.

I actually mentioned this to my psychiatrist. We are doing bloods- I asked her to check my test levels aswell. She actually asked why I want to know and whether I've used "something for the gym". I said no but possibly in the future and she took it very well. So we'll take it from there. Thanks for the feedback. I told her to please test all the relevant factors which would be affected by AAS so we have a baseline for future reference. However I don't think she added everything as she doesn't quite know and neither do I.
