Advice on creatine and glutamine was created by kingson
Hey guys!

FINALLY! a South African forum where people actually reply! i just joined now and was looking for advice on Creatine and Glutamine...

Which brands would you recommend?
Don't want to be spending rediculous amounts
(like Gaspari etc. -they may work, but they're incredibly expensive) and, just something thats reasonably priced and actually works!

Thanks!
Good luck with punishing the gym! ;)

pure creatine monohydrate, now they say u should look for the creapure brand, that is a bit more expensive, but a lot better quality, me myself, i always juz got the cheapest one, normally they come from china, i think the creapure mono. comes from germany, now i would relly juz like to know how much more better quality the creapure brand is, coz me myself really dont know... maybe someone here can tell us more of the diff between creapure and china brand.

glutamine, i never used, juz too expensive. i personaly think glutamine is juz overated.

My take on it...ur body creates creatine itself...!!!
The basic compound in creatine is the same,so no matter what brand you use there would actually not be a difference,so the cheaper one is going to work just as good as the more exspensive one...as for glutamine thats a pretty good thing to add to ur supplements to.

Something that works well is this : mix 5-10grams of creatine monodrate,5-10grams glutamine and then 5-10grams dextrose together in 200ml water(bad tast) or grape juice(good tast) and have it 2-3 times a day,1 before gym and 1 after gym.
The trick here is that the creatine and glutamine gets binded to the dextrose and this is taken up musch more and rappedly by muscle cells,so now ur getting more of the 2 in because its binded to the dextrose which is absorbed first by the muscle as it is a form of sugar....

The dextrose causes a insulin spike (need more than 5-10 grams here) which causes the uptake of Creatine. 5g total post training.

thanks guys!

i'll do some reading up on dextrose and see what it's all about.

What I meant to ask was...which are brands that are tried and trusted? I HATE getting advice from from people like those dischem arseholes. ended up buying USN 2 years back.

which brands do you use that you know works and actually has the good quality ingredients listed on the label?

There is diff between the china creatine and creapure creatine. I read somewhere, cant rem where, that tests were done and it was found that whilst creapure was 99% pure, the chinese shit was very inconsistant, some 80%, some far less. So i would say invest in the 30/40 rand more and get creapure! think muscle science is creapure, not sure about SSA.

@ kingston, bud just get yourself some glucose powder i.e. glucose same thing as dextrose (slight difference in the atomic arrangement but essentially the same).

Nothing worth doing is ever easy.
