Hi

Okay so I am rather sick of protein shakes and I am going to try and work more whey into my supplements.
At the moment I drink a protein shake 2 times a day. One in the morning and one after workout.
Please bare in mind I am a student so the budget is strict hence the unflavored whey concentrate.
What I would like to do is the following:
*50g Ondier whey concentrate in the morning with 25g carbs and +- 250ml milk
*5-g Ondier whey concentrate post workout with 25g carbs and +- 250ml milk
*3 Tablespoons of peanut butter right before I go to bed.

I am about 80kg 1.87m.

What I would like to know is:
How does unflavored whey concentrate taste like?
Would that be better than a protein shake?.
Heard the peanut butter will keep you anabolic throughout the night is that true?.

Some ideas for flavoring whey here- www.anabolicsteroids.co.za/forum/9-suppl...lavour-your-own-whey

Then also rather take dextrose also from ondier with the post workout shake, its like R25 a kilo so very affordable! Whey isolate is a more pure form of protein that gets processed faster.

Peanut butter before bed will make sure your growing muscles have a nice steady supply of energy, so anabolic might be a strong word but in the sence yes!

Bro....whey IS a protein shake. Its powdered protein that u mix and shake and drink. Lol.

Branded "pure protein" shakes are often a blend of different protein forms such as concentrate, isolate, egg, cassein, soy etc etc.

Mass builders or Meal Replacements are protein (whey) based powder mixed with carbs such as dextrose, milk powders etc etc.

So all of the above are essentially "protein" shakes. The make up and ratios just differ.

Unflavored whey tastes like.....unflavored whey. Kinda salty and tasteless.

About the pnutbutter keeping u anabolic.......not too sure about that one

I'm not sure what your carb source is for the first shake but I would use 50-100g uncooked oats and blend that with the whey. you could add pb as well

Yes. Raw whey is exactly what it says, raw whey. Not mixed with milk powders and other things so shouldn't leave u feeling bloated. Some branded protein sources are known to cause bloating.

yes it will be better. mass gainers are filled with simple carbs as well as thickners - these give you that bloated feeling.

you could add healthy fats to the whey shakes to slow down absorption but peanut butter would fill that requirement

Get some Whey Isolate if you get bloated, this is the best.

Agreed concenstrate usually has dairy. So if lactose intolerant you will bloat. Isolate is your way out.

Problem is that on a student budget whey isolate is just to expensive for me.

@gorilla whats the use of mac nut oil.?

Have to say when I used isolate as post workout (whilst playing soccer I really bulked up and cut out a lot of fat)

Okay I have decided on 2kg whey isolate and 1kg concentrate. Isolate is for workout days and concentrate for non workout days.

I would say on average guys are using anything from 30g to 60g dextrose... Ondiers packaging suggests 50g.
