I managed to get some dextrose from the pharmacy. How much would you put
In a post workout whey drink?

I use 50gram Dextrose mixed with 50gram Whey

uber expensive bud! why not get some from other sources. basicsupplements.co.za, or ondier. I get mine from another source but can only get minimum of 25kg per order, so sitting with a shitload of dextrose right now. i get the 25kg for about R260 to give you a indication of the price.

yup, big bulk produce company so they dont really deal like your average joe. guess i dont need dextrose for the next year tho...lol

I pay R30 for 1kg dextrose at my local pharmacy......

I use 25g dextrose, 25g maltodextrine with 60g whey post workout

@Ian79: To answer your original question one would put anywhere from 40g-80g in your post workout shake, depending on your current stats, goals, and how intense your workout is. For example someone that wants to lose fat weighing about 85kgs and that lifts like your average joe will consume about 40g. In contrast the Hulk weighing 120kgs (trying to bulk) that has to be careful not to bend the bar when he lifts will do about 80g post workout, and probably take 40g intra-workout aswell.

And this is the 500grams for 30 one? I got the impression now that pharmacies sell the stuff "outside" of the supp section or am I reading this wrong?

Like I said mine is Supps SA. Its 1kg for R30. Don't think pharmacies sell dextrose in general

Just a bit of an update. It seems pretty much all pharmacies sell raw dextrose/glucose. Walked into my local chemist and they had 500 gram bags for 30 bucks. Pharmacist reckons big chemists like dischem sell them in 5kg bags... I just learned something today... Another item i can bypass the pirate supp companies with.

to be honest i havent checked the product line of supplementworld in a while but on average i received my orders from them in two days and there is no seperate charge for delivery (unless things have changed). Sure a bag of dextrose would be cheaper and easier to pick up from a pharmacy anyway...
