What is Amino Stack? was created by Wimmas
Hey peeps!

So I'm ordering a few supplements form basic supplements soon (cause they're the cheapest) and I saw they sell "Amino stack". I was wondering exactly what this is or is supposed to do theoretically (quicker recovery/strength gains?) and whether it would be beneficial to take it? I'll only be taking in Whey Isolate, no other supps! So will it be good to combine it with the Whey or is it a waste of money?

To me it looks like a multivit mixed with some amino acids?

here's a link: www.basicsupplements.co.za/amino-stack

Thanks

Hi man different amino acids have different functions, so yes in general terms it helps with recovery but also with other body functions as fat burning, building muscle ec. I'm not sure what this stack consist of so can't really help!

Besides that it would take ages for someone to explain each amino acid, I'm sure Google has the awnser you are looking for though;)

In the link I provided are all the ingredients! Looks like a lot of different amino acids and then the vitamins are C, B6 and B12.

Maybe it's a good idea if I take it because I don't take any vitamin pills or any form of amino acids atm. So I'll get that with Whey Isolate.

Just wondering about the dosage now, cause it's 200 capsules which means I probably need to take around 3-6 a day?

Bud honestly now why do you want to waste money on this? If you eat correctly you will have all the Aminos you need. Rather invest your money into Omega 3, Omega 6, Vitamin C and a strong multivit- things that you know are important. Please don't fall victim to the supplement industry.

I get your point, thanks! Believe me I'm aware of all the scams and nonsense in the supp industry! I just ordered the Whey Isolate, they didn't have Amino Stack in stock (Luckily)

Please tell me more of Omega 3 & 6 - Do I buy these in capsule form at like Clicks or Dischem? And what are they useful for?

Thanks

Haha Greg was still pissed off from earlier on. Funny!

You can buy them at Dischem. The codename for Omega 6 oils is Evening Primrose Oil. Make sure you buy Omega 3 oils with EPA and DHA values of more than 100, however the ones that I have are over 600. The list of benefits of Omega 3,6&9 fatty acids is endless.. Most importantly the supps make sure you don't have a deficiency while building muscle otherwise you wont build properly.

Been reading up on amino acids the last couple of days. My conclusion is to only use it on cycle from now on since it is beneficial but not a necessity it seems. Some aminos also compete for the same receptors like L Leucine (the most important one) and Isoleucine.

Also came upon study showing that 5g Leucine combined with 20g dextrose gave a higher insuline spike than say 60g of dextrose on its own. Leucine is also dirt cheap at R325/kg from wholesalers. Some food for thought....................

It's actually the same mode of absorption that they compete for. ;) and yup, the spike is 72% higher than glucose alone.

Which wholesalers are these ABC?

Hahaha Greg! I was just fooling around bro, chill out! And sorry for the noob questions, I know it's irritating, but then again please understand my point - this forum helps noobs and if an expert can sum up a question for me in 2 mins, it's better than me doing hours of research and still not coming to a conclusion. Plus on these forums guys have experience using supps so I value their opinions!

Anyway, I did a bit of research and it seems to me (I'm probably wrong) that these omega 3 and 6 supps are more for preventative measures in certain disorders, diseases and skin problems.

I lately have issues with my left shoulder when doing chest or shoulders, it's sometimes quite sore or doesn't keep up with the right shoulder, so maybe these essential fatty acids can help lubricate the shoulder joint?

I have been concentrating on doing more lat exercises to counteract the shoulder issue and it has helped, but I'm still struggling!

PLEASE READ!!!!

I forgot to post this in the previous comment, I have one more question:

After my order went through at BS, I saw they have a MASS GAINER which is very cheap. I took a look at the nutritional info and ingredients and it looks really good. It has a combination of whey proteins and L-Glutamine. Is there a reason it's so cheap? (Makes fat etc)I know it's got more carbs/fat and less protein than whey isolate but it's quite easy to fit those into your macros? Here's a link, please check it out and comment, PLEASE! www.basicsupplements.co.za/mass-gainer

WHY IS THE STUFF SO CHEAP!!!!

Cause it's SOOOOOO kak bro! I wouldn't use a mass gainer if THEY paid ME! Have had the discussion on mass-gainers more times than I would have enjoyed. Lees so bietjie hierso ek het die hele mass gainer ding regtig mooi probeer verduidelik- n quote van 'n ander thread (waaraan jy ook aan die einde deelgeneem het):

Here are my thoughts on the SSN muscle builder:

Straight off the bat I feel that the calories (365cals) are quite low. You are gonna need 5-6 servings of this stuff plus an additional 2 big meals to get enough cals in to build muscle.
The protein content (33g) is very low. Also the little bit you get is filtered whey (good source) and soya isolate (crappy protein) so not ideal.
The carbs are all maltodextrin, a very high GI carbohydrate. Maltodextrin goes through your system very quickly and therefore won't be able to give a constant supply of energy to your muscles. We only use these high GI carbs post workout as a way to spike insulin (just like sugar).
Then I see there is 3.55g of BCAA's, Glutamine, Creatine, Taurine, etc. I use 7g of pure Glutamine in the mornings, 7g post workout, and another 7g before bed it get the full effect of Glutamine. WHAT THE FUCK is 0.8g gonna do for you?!

In contrast, here is a typical meal one would eat whilst bulking:
300g Sweet potato- 61g of perfect carbohydrates that feed your muscles for hours. Sweet potato is also full of vitamins.
300g Fillet Steak- 68g of perfect protein for the real man.
45g Cashew Nuts- These are fats from a plant and therefore good fats. They are chock full of vitamins and omega fatty acids needed for testosterone production, muscle building, fat burning, and about 1000 other very important functions including brain function. Total about 750cals of muscle rocket fuel.

So.... If you were a logical person and you desired to take less than 10 years to put on some real muscle, which one would you choose?
Hint: If you need to flip a coin you probably shouldn't be let out in public unsupervised.

p.s Sorry I took so long to reply was busy eating.

Lol! Shot man, some helpful info there! Almost thought I could get away with rather buying the mass gainer as it looks better than any other mass gainers I've seen (whey protein concentrate, isolate and hydrolyzed) which looked better than soy etc.

I'll then just stick to isolate, probably the purest form! Plus seeing that I'm a small guy (1.68m) and not on the juice, I don't think more than 0.8g protein p/pound would make a big difference, and I'm currently shedding fat and trying to maintain muscle.

it actually works atm cause I haven't been training for years, probably quite intense the last two months so I'm still having the newb effect where I'm lucky enough to build some muscle and lose fat at the same time! It's just hard to get enough protein (or to me it is), through whole foods and that's why I wanna get some isolate!

My shoulders have been making gains despite the minor left shoulder issue. See the pic (I know I'm probably the smallest built and whatever, but I'm kinda proud. As yall can see my bf is still far too high! note, I have not been taking a single supplement for what I've gotten thus far.I need some striations man, on my chest! I want those lines :cheer:

Tjom kan jy n program onthou met die naam Orkney Snorknie? Daar is n karakter met die naam Wimpy. Hint hint.. ;)

Your shoulders are coming along nicely. I can see that you are struggling with your chest. There are a couple of guys in here that also struggle with chest so they will be able to help you. I know Chapel has the chest of a 10 year old girl and he is pretty big otherwise. ;)

If you have anything else I can help you with please don't be shy.
