Hey lads

I was just wondering do you think a casein shake with some peanut butter is beneficial before bed?
Like even if you had a big steak at 7 for supper and you've had enough protien for that day, is it worth it or just a waste of cash? Just wondering I'm not dieting so I don't mind the extra calories.

Thanks

I'm using it at the moment on my cut. Just worked it into my macro's and it seems fine :) I think it would awesome on a bulk though, have to wait and see for the next opportunity. As a replacement you can have slow digesting protein like cottage cheese and ensure slow digestion with fibre and fats. Just remember the great deal about casein is it's anti-catabolic affect, use it prevent starving your muscles in what would be a fast.

Hey,
I've been going to bed at about 8 lately, I have to be up for work at about 4 at the moment so I've been having a shake at 8 and hitting the sack. So my last meal is at 7 and thats steak or chicken veg and potato.

I take it before bed as follows.
40g casein
100ml fat free milk
150ml water
5g glutamine

Mix well with hand blender, put in fridge for an hour or two .. Returns chocolate mousse
