Hey Guys,

A bit of a unique question, but I think somebody might be able to help me out.

So a couple of weeks ago, I got diagnosed with Chronic Compartment Syndrome. Effectively, my legs flair up, and it hurts like hell when I run. Now I'm doing the warrior race in two weeks, and was wondering if there was something that I could take prerace to delay the onset of pain and inflammation in my legs?

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Sorry bud but there is nothing. You can stretch amd get dry needling done, did a great deal for me but it WILL return. Also foot strike and shoes make a big impact. Your best bet is to see a physio and get them to show you some stretches. I was also doing warrior but I cant now due to injury.

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

At what speed and what distance is the CS setting in? Have you had the pressure tests done? Which compartments are affected?

Oh and chronic CS can be serious. Are you sure what you are describing, or got diagnosed with, is not exertional CS?

Thanks man, I thought as much, I'll massage the shit out of it for what it's worth, hahahaha.

Am busy going to a physio at the moment, and got some dry needling done but it's not making much of a difference.

I'll get that dog tag, even if I have to crawl on my hands and knees to get it.

Waiting for my appointment for the pressure test as we speak. It sets in very quickly, after about 500km of full speed running.

Sorry for the disjointed messages I am on my phone. Massage, stretch and dry needling and new shoes made my left leg significantly better. I was religious with stretching though. Do you run on a treadmill?

I tried treadmill and outside. The treadmill is on a 10 degree angle as per my physio.

Wrote a long reply then my phone bombed and I lost it.

Look inclines make my CS flare up hectically, if you do have CCS then I don't really know why the physio would put you on 10 degree inclines. Its not my place to interfere though.

Before I went to physio my CS flared up the instant I went above 9.2km/h on the treadmill. Now after treatment, in my second run I got up to 11.5km/h with no issues.

Has your physio given you a lot of stretches to do?

Ya she has, but I must be honest, I got an appointment with somebody else later this week because I'm not seeing an improvement. It's so frustrating.

Do you know somebody in CPT that you can recommend? (Long shot but I thought I would check)
