If you want to drink your calories, drink whey post workout. If you are missing teeth or have trouble swallowing solid matter, use mass gainer shakes. For everybody else, there is food.

Guys I agree on the food issue however supplements do have a place in nutrition. Whilst supps can never replace a well balanced meal they do assist in topping up calories when we are unable to do so with food. Agreed a protein whey is the route to follow.

What? How is a shake not food? Exactly what 'chemicals' are in there that aren't in other foods?

OP, provided you're hitting your micronutrient requirements (fruit, veggies and a multi for good measure), fill in the rest of your macros however the hell you want.

Also you won't overdose on creatine, you'll just piss out what you don't need. However, if a serving of the shake itself contains 5g of creatine, you're probably just wasting your money on the extra creatine
