Supplement feed back was created by Mr K
Hi Guys,

Wanted to hear some feed back. Please feel free to say what ever you want.

What supplements do you guys use and why? I know they effective but things like price , taste , availabilty ect...

What products have you tired that you thought where a waste?

What is the most you would spend on a decent supplement?

What do you spend a month on supplements?

Which products would you like to try , what attracts you to them?

Just wanted to hear your thoughts. If there is anything else youd like to add please do so.

Well, at the moment I'm using just the absolute basics of supplements. I'm taking these right now:
Whey protein
BCAA's
Glutamine
Muti-Vitamins

The supplements that I believed to be a waste of money have always been "hormonal" supplements:
hGH activators - These things do absolutely nothing.
17-HD - This does work for some people, but all it did to me was kill my libido and made me depressed. I think this is more like a pro-hormone.
6-OXO - Useless rubbish.
Tribulus terrestris - This certainly has a positive effect on libido, but it did nothing to promote muscle growth.

To me it all depends on the price per serving and I'm willing to spend quite a bit of money on something if it will last for a reasonable amount of time

Kevin Coyne wrote:

On average between: R1000 and R1500

Vitargo Juggernaut - I only hear good things about this. Will get some from Anthony soon. ;)

I use Whey from Optimum,, it tastes pretty good,, and doesn't give me too much gas........

I can not use any local whey,,, I have tried them all,, they all give me major gas. I tought whey was whey ,,, but it's not..

Juggernaut Vitargo -- Of course,, Damn I wish I discovered that shit sooner,, it really is amazing stuff,, I use it during and post workout,, If you use insulin you just simply cannot be without Vitargo!

Optimum Pro-Gainer,, just started using it ,, 60g protein in a serving,, seems pretty good so far,,, used Serious Mass before but it really fills you up and bloats you.

Main reason I use optimum is because I get it at a good price for a good quality supplement,,

Used to Use a lot of EAS because I used to get it cheap,, but now that abbot has absorbed them those days are gone :-( I used to love their precision Whey,, they had ones that tasted like fruit juice ,, well like artificially sweetened Kool-Aid at least

I've used Gakic Leukic and creakic, and I do think I got a better pump when I used it,, it's a ridiculous amount of pills to swallow,,, But I can't resist buying it because MuscleTechs packaging is just so damn good that it gets me all excited when I walk down the aisle in Dischem.

The most awesome fat burners EVER were the original HydroxyCut with ephedrine,, and Dymetadrine Xtreme by AST.

Biggest Supplement dissapointments for me -- Any Glutamine on its own ,,, my body just rejects it ,,, I'm talking about projectile rejects it from the wrong side..

Biggest waste of money,,, any Pro-HGH product,, Gabba-- just makes my skin crawl -- literally,,

BSN'sNO Xplode definately gave me a pump,, but it also gave me a skin rash

I've never really sat and calculated how much I spend on supplements,, don't really budget for it,,I know its a lot,, I'm pretty impulsive and if it looks interesting I'll buy it.. Excluding juice probably about 3 to 4k a month if you include all the vitamins and what not.

What attracts me to Supplements : Word of mouth,,, and packaging,, I'm a sucker for good packaging..

If it's not working,,, take double,,,

Batman, have a look at our Pure Whey from Nutrition Lab. I do think it is the best out there. And it is not that pricy...

Nutrition lab is running a good special, 100% whey, Glutamine and m-vit. I personaly use just their supps, but am not that big on too many supps and only have a minimal amount and get the rest from real food. Only have a shake post workout due to logistical reasons and T-rex at night. Might even have a shake in the morning if I am running late, but that's it. Rest are the usual suspects, m-vit, vit c,flax seed oil, zinc, magnesium, some glutamine and vitargo of course ..... all the stuff a growing boy needs. :P

I just have a crappy habit of buying stuff to save a buck here and there, and ending up with something that i have to force down my throught with a stick. Buying from a shop you have no option but to buy/try and be happy with what you get (whether you like it or not). 5-6-700 rands later and you cant even give the stuff away :-) And y'all have been through that its not just me. Anyways, this is what this board is for, not to take advantage of others but if you can help why not? Kevin i love vitargo, got a sample & converted ... simple.

Where did you get a sample?

Yeah its a great product im really happy with how its worked out.

I know what your saying a bought a creatie product once upon a time when I firsts started. I can handle any taste but not an atrifival fruit punch cherry , man that stuff was disgusting. Dont know if any one ever tried a the first weider proteins out? No mega mass but I think it was "Super Protein" . Wow it was hectic like a chalky texture and like a fool I bought 3 tubs becuase it was on special. It used to make me gag after a wokr out hahahahahah

Yip, been down that road as well. Some products branded as chocolate, ja right, if chocolate tasted like that then we would have allot less fat people I can tell you. Also bought a protein powder once, long long time ago and they only had vanilla, so lucky me bought vanilla, not asking why their were hundreds of vanilla containers and no chocolate or any other flavour. After my first sip I was soon to find out why, man, if ever I have to associate the taste of sweaty horse balls to anything it would be to that and I could not even finish the first shake. I had to blend it with all kinds of stuff just to get it down. So, basically, school fees paid and I will rather wait for feedback from a reputable source before I buy any new product. No more guinea pigging for me B)

I rest my case :-) Kevin, bought a couple of scoops from a mate of mine. Thats why if you can ask a guy for a favour, why not eh. Its all selective marketing after all, you supply a sample tells 10 guys about this smashing product, see the multiplication effect here :-)

Won a container of Protein Powder last year at one of the shows I entered. This stuff smells when you open it, it absolutely tastes foul - gave some to my dog(she will usually gulp down anything) - she didn't even want it........
