Buy whey from LSJ, buy some dextrose from Muscle Works (It's like R85 for 2Kg) and then you can make your own MRP. Add some Cocoa for flavour.

If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.

milktuds i would swap the dextrose to waxy maize starch. dextrose is a very high GI and can cause insulin spikes in the wrong time of the day causing fat gain, waxy maize starch is a complex carbohydrate that doesnt contain sugars therefore doesnt cause an insulin spike so there is no chance of fat gain (unless u are eating to much in a day) it doesnt taste like anything so i suggest flavouring your whey and maybe sweetening it in order to make it tasty.

I mix the ACE instant porridge with the whey to make MRP. About eleven rand for a kilo and comes in strawberry, babana, vanilla, sweetcorn and original flavours, no chocolate though :( . Its usually by the cereals section but if not its by the maize pap

DJ, I use it with the dextrose as a Post Workout shake is that Ok? That's when you want a insulin spike right? So can I use fructose or Waxy maize as a MRP with the whey? And another thing I don't know if my ratio is correct.

I weigh 78Kg. How much Protein/Carbs should I get in for Pre workout and Post Workout?

Currently Pre workout shake is 30g Whey Protein Concentrate (24g Protein) and 500ml Powerade (38g Carbs). Post Workout 60g Whey Protein Concentrate and 60g Dextrose. 48P and 60g Carbs.

Sorry if I am Hijacking this thread.

yea dextrose post work out is fine see u are needing a insulin spike there... no to the fructose, that is also a simple carb and will cause and insulin spike and thats not what u want...rather only use waxy maize.

From what I understand - waxy maize will still spike insulin regardless whether it is "sugarfree" or not. Malto is also "sugarfree" and considered a complex carb but spikes insulin - I think it all depends on the structure.

every carb (spikes) insulin... just depeding what if its a slow release... eg: pizza causes your sugars to go all over the place for a long peroid of time (monitor brothers who are diabetics)

but dj is correct waxy maze would be ideal for a stable sugar levels... and its the sugar that causes the 'spike' where without the sugar it will be a slower release of insulin...
