Have taken it and still have some at home.
Personally I don't like it as it fucks around with my brain waves and I hate the feeling, also makes me dream all kinds of shit.

Never used it but I've seen Dischem sells it under their own label as well and generally it's quite affordable.

I thought you thread was spelt wrong.

For those that dont know like me:

GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is the most important and abundant inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain (it's actually an amino acid classified as a neurotransmitter). It helps induce relaxation and sleep. It acts as a "balancer" for the brain where excitation of the brain is balanced with inhibition. In addition to it's 'balancing' effects, GABA stimulates the anterior pituitary, leading to higher levels of Human Growth Hormone (HGH), and if you didn't know, HGH is very anabolic (muscle building) and lipotropic (fat preventing). So, GABA indirectly enhances these 2 positive effects. Let's take a quick look at the benefits of Human Growth Hormone:

• HGH is shown to have anti-aging effects
• Higher levels of HGH leads to less body fat and also better lean tissue-stored fat ratio
• HGH level decrease with age, so supplementation is beneficial
• Helps lose fat and improve lean muscle

Never fraternize with them as equals, never accept them as your social equals or they will devour you, they will destroy you.

No prob - let me just find out out first. Will get back to you. I would 10 to 1 have to take 2.5 or 5kg. In which case I'm willing to share as its a lot for one person.

Yeah, it would be a bit much, as you only take one teaspoon with water/juice before bed, on an empty stomach.

Give it a shot, you're only TESTing it...

Wayne,
Did you experience any results with GABA and what about side effects?

If everybody does it, is it still cheating?

Mr_SA,
How on earth will I be able to take GABA before bedtime on an empty stomach if most of us hit a mixed Whey shake before bed?

I urge you to read a book you can get at Dischem... Patrick Holford/Food is Better Medicine Than Drugs.

That book will give you a great understanding and what doses to use, etc... i cant even explain how great this book is...

@Mr_SA
Take it 1 hour before bed / last shake.
So if you have dinner at 7pm, take GABA at 9pm in bed by 10pm.
Why do you take WHEY before bed, you should be taking CASIEN or do you mix the Casien and the Whey ?

You mix the whey and casein to give slow release of the whey protein.

@Mr_SA,
Thanks for the handy info. I just mix 100g WPC, 100ml Skim milk, 200ml water, 2 spoons Cottage cheese and 2 tsp Milo(for taste) for a before bed shake.
Where is Casein obtainable?

If everybody does it, is it still cheating?

Well I actually do mix it with the blender and a spot of milk. Its not really something you can buy in concentrate - you buy it in tubs at Spar, P&P ect

Casien is a slow release protein.
Since we should all be having at least 8 hours sleep a night, having a casien protein shake before will give the body a supply of protein for a few hours.
It's expensive though, I paid R390.00 for 1kg about a month ago and last week I saw the ON Casien (908g) for about R430.00.

@LSJ
Can you get Casien cheap ?
