I think I missed the whole thing about USN. What did they do? Is the nutritional information on the label wrong?

What Brand do you guys prefer?

dont let supp companies fool u with their adds, and thier sponsered athlethes that use gear and not even their supps, some of those guys get sponsered some of thier supps of the companies adds they apear in, they then dont use the sponsered supps, they sell it to buy themselfs more hgh and igf!

dont let them supp companies drive away in the brand new red ferrari u help them get themselfs..... like usn!

Just to clear up some things here, mayne believe that the Dischem supplement Biogen is actually USN this is false.... it is just stored at the same site that USN has their stuff stored. USN does not manufature stuff for Dischem.

Disagree with you on this one.
I spoke to a guy from Biogen a few weeks back and he confirmed that USN manufactures and packs the stuff for Biogen. He and the rest of the Biogen staff are based at USN in Midrand.
He did say that the Biogen stuff is kept seperate to the USN as not to get mixed but I some how doubt that.

I wouldn't trust products from Biogen, maybe Dis Chem is a little more honest but .....

I'll stick to the raw supps from LSJ and if anything else is required then Muscle Science, SSN or Evox.

Weird i spoke to guys at Dischem they said USN do not and its just storoed at the same place they do.... somebody aint telling the truth....

If what is been said below is true then I think with the changing of the advertising laws lately someone is going to end up with massive fines. All it would take is for one test sample of whey for e.g to be tested, found to not contain what the label says it does and the fall out publicity would kill USN / Biogen. Based on this I somehow think that they wouldn`t take the chance....just mo

The problem comes in with margin of error that's allowed. I'm talking under correction but I spend quite some time trying to figure it out. It boils down to this:

In the US for instance if you're label say "100% Whey" it must have have per definition have 100% whey in the container or else the FDA will screw you badly. There are however allowed a certain margin of error depending on the product. (It is chemically close to impossible getting 100% pure whey)

In SA you can say "100% whey" even if you're protein content is only 40% because the 40% that is in there is real whey protein.

Also you are not allowed to make claims that have not been scientifically proven, in SA you can say pretty much what you like as long as you put in small print a note on the label that states "This product does not cure ect any illness" Even this is not allways done.

I get a lot of e-mails telling me that USN,for instance, is better than the whey protein I sell because its got "100% whey" What the twit does not do is to turn around his container and read the ingredient list at the back.

Also, add up all the stuff at the back of that container and see if you get 100%....

Now think how in a brick's butthole can a whey protein powder that's got added BCAA, Glutamine, flavourants, colourants and sweeteners to name a few and not forgetting the 50 vitamins still contain the same or more protein content than the primary whey protein product from which it is made???

Another thing, on the USN Pure Protein it says:
Contains ZYMATECH Multiple Enayme Technology (incl. Lactase Enaymes & Fibre) for optimal protein digestion & amino acid uptake.

Its ok, not picking you up on the spelling error of enzymes but Lactase digests Lactose, a milk sugar. It wont help protein digestion or amino acid uptake and I cant see any other enzymes listed but this one? Was looking for protease, bromelain or papain? It also says there it has fibre yet there isnt one listed in the ingredients nor is it listed in the nutritional breakdown how much fibre is contained.

Lastly, it listed a blend of vitamins & minerals, it has two minerals in it, calcium which was from the milk and magnesium oxide, which is a poor mans magnesium. It also doesnt state the amounts of vitamins or minerals in the nutritional breakdown.

Not picking on you Bbwarehouse but unsubstantiated claims really put me off products, have you missed something from the ingredients list?

Im not saying they are guilty and Im not saying they are innocent...I just cant see a company that big taking such a huge risk however if they are then with the new laws of advertising coming into play it wont be long before they are caught out. That would be a good thing for all as all manufacturers will be forced to either close down OR supply what they claim to be supplying.

The first time I heard that USN gave false readings of protein count was close on 6 years ago. maybe even longer.... and they still do it...

springbok was the best priced in the past(wag lat ek net die gou edit, ons het gedink hulle was die goedkoopste,maar nou sien mens net hulle het mens voken besteel, tnkx lsj jy het ons oe geopen), most of there stuff was the cheapest, but lsj opened all uor eyes to see how they ripping us off, he still makesa profit and yet you get it from him for half as at any other place.

hulle kan in hul voken moer vlieg, lsj is the best place to get your supps!!

Dude...I bought 1kg of 99.9 % pure pharmacuetical grade creatine from a chemical import company for 100 bucks...was a couple of years back but it showed me then what the mark up was.... its crazy

Let people make a decent living and even get rich, but dont rip us off by copying ingredients and repackaging sups and then act like its all the research pushing prices up!
