Knowledgable People - Vitamin etc. Supplements

Hey Guys,

I have access to a pharmaceutical contract manufacturer with a state of the art facility. Manufactures for the likes of BRAND REMOVED, Dischem, Clicks and many ohers. Able to do just about anything in the way of vitamin and mineral supplement manufacturing including essential fatty acids, probiotics, herbal extracts etc.

I want him to put together a couple of products aimed at the body building market. With your combined expertise I am sure we can come up with some fantastic formulations and products that will go down well. Every product he manufactures is tested and supplied with certification etc. So we can actually stipulate exactly what we want in each product and get a gurantee that it is in fact the real deal.

As for products I would hope you guys can suggest what you would like to see in the realm of a decent multi-vitamin, possibly a joint supplement but obviously we can make it better than the current ones on the market. My first thought was a proper PCT supplement. Something to take when starting your PCT. Something with a huge amount of Vitamin C in as well as some liver support ingredients, some immune boosting ingredients and maybe some test boosting ingredients. He also already does some libido products for the overseas market that have had rave reviews.

Please let me have your questions or suggestions or ideas. We should possibly look at taking this offline for a full discussion if need be.

A good starting point for a locally manufactured multi vitamin would be to check the ingredients on ON Optimen and try to copy it and maybe adding some wonder products.

I would love to see a Pre-bed supplement containing ZMA / Gaba / Glutemine

If you can "copy" Solgar's products, like their multi vitamin (V 2000) and their 1500mg Vit C products, that would be awesome. Also, MSM is a great product...see if he can do something about that.

He already has a topical spray ready to go to marlet with MSM and DMSO. Both brilliant ingredients for muscular pain etc.
Will definitely do some kind of joint product with Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM....any ideas on what else to add to this particular product. Maybe some EFA's?

Acidkid, I love your idea. I've just chatted to him on it now and he's going to do some research. Obviously need the perfect formulation for ZMA.

We can copy any Multivitamin out there but we certainly want to make it even better. We want to make sure ours also has a probiotic in and I'm hoping you guys will tell me what else you want in there. 1500mg Vit C is easy but we will probably do a buffered version for slow release etc.

I think a Multivitamin with combined liver support and enhanced vitamin C would be fantastic, something aimed at more serious body builders and athletes,

Never mind the whole Solgar thing.

If someone could come up with something like Animal Pak , they would make a killing seen the price tripled over the years .

Liver support. Something like LIV52.

Agreed, the best bet at the ultimate MV is something with tons of ingredients at uber doses and the only way to do this is to have lots of tabs-gels-caps with tons of goodies and put them into packs. One product that had everything divided into morning, training, and night time packets but sold as a whole single entity would be my ideal...

You guys have great ideas, keep it up. I'll be one of your first customers. What's the approximate time line on this project?

Would be nice to have something that includes your all EFA and so on.

Animal pak is still No.1 in my books. I have not bought it in a year for obvious reason . From R200 to like +R450 and down from 44 pak to 40..

So a pre-bed supplimet with Gaba/ZMA/Glutemine and Animal Pak clone.

Making packaging simple and cheap will keep the price down.

As soon as fancy printing and packages appear. The price goes through the roof.

This is exactly why this forum is brilliant. The suggestions and info you guys have provided is awesome.

We are hoping to have product ready by end Feb next year. Definitely going to be in very functional, simple packaging as there is no need to entice connsumers to purchase the product off shelf as we are not going to go into retailers. Every product will be supplied with the full ingredient and formulation list as well as a full certificate of analysis. Out target market are people exactly like ourselves who are fairly well educated about the supplements that are out there and what they can and can't do. No need for some half educated promoter to guide you to the product he gets the most commission on. We hope that through word of mouth and the repeat purchases after trialing the product will be enough to sustain us. We really want to put out the best possible product at the best possible price we can manufacture it for. Plain and simple goal.

I love the idea of multiple product, single serving packs. Maybe morning, pre workout, post workout and before bed packs.

Don't stop now though guys and girls. Any other supplements you would like to see? What about a supplement specifically designed to be taken during the PCT phase? Any thoughts on a joint assistance product? Can also do topical creams and sprays.
What about an effervescent pre-workout product with BCAA's etc.

What if we could compress the highest possible quality, pure whey protein into tablet form. You would take 6 or 8 tabs about 8 times a day with some water. Any thoughts?

Seriously happy to entertain and discuss any and all suggestions. Let's get some products that we all want and will work.

Very good idea, pop a few pills if your not at home all day

But remember, the harder (more compressed) a tablet is, the higher the chance that it will not dissolve quickly enough in your stomach, thus it gets passed out without being absorbed...
Tests in a glass with acid/water solution might get the right compression though...

I also like the idea of a multi that is not only 1mg of each ingredient.

I would love to see a post workout shake/drink with either whey hydrolysate or isolate, vitargo and creatine (at a descent dose)
and what about, instead of a BCAA drink, is there a way to get a similar product but with all the aminos in it? would be awesome to take during a workout
