Creatine was created by stripflOw
Sup Guys and Gals

At the moment all Im getting in is the creatine from SPS No Blast

Quadra Creatine - Anabolic Strength, Power & Cell
Volumizing Complex: 5500mg
Creatine Monohydrate †
Creatine Ethyl Ester †
Creatine Gluconate †
Creatine Alpha-Ketoglutarate †
Taurine †

I have never cycled, been taking it for almost a year straight now.
Should I cycle my creatine intake and why?

Creatine monohydrate or creatine ethyl esther or both?
Ive heard ethyl esther you actually dont lose size when you go off unlike mono.
True or not?

My last question is taking it on training days only or everyday?

Thanks in advance :P

Yes you should cycle it. You should take about three months break cos 1 year is, long-term use can become harsh on your kidneys.

ok depending on you're weight you're gonna want to take in between 15-20g per day.
I have always cycled it 3 days on and 3 off.
Split this dosage like this, 5g 30-45 min before training, 5g straight after you're workout and another 5g about 2 hours later with a small easily digestable (is that even a word? haha) meal.
As for the different types my vote goes for monohydrate.
The only "size" you loose when stopping it will be water weight so it's nothing to stress about

Train harder than the guy next to you and one day, no-one will be able to touch you

Okay cool, so if i stop for 3 months? What can I do to keep my strength gains on the plus? Can you even train without supps? Do I start using juice? lol :P

Jayman my weight is 88kg. How long would you do that for? 8 weeks then off for 4?

Just keep pushing urself. There wont be a dramatic drop in strength but when you start again you will get a great pump

drop the crea for a while as Beesting said and when you start again cycle it for 2 or 3 months and on and one off

Apparently he loves it :woohoo:

When I cycle creatine, and it's off time,
I train till I get to the same size/strength that I was at before I stopped creatine.
Then I start again, and get new size :)

There are basically 3 schools of though around using creatine.

1. The one Jayman mentioned
2. The one that Beesting mentioned that is also the one that you use a "loading" phase of a week.
3. The newest idea is that you use around 10-15gr per day BUT ONLY ON TRAINING DAYS. If you dont train you dont use it. You then take every 6th week off.

If you've trained for a year you should know supplements is very important but it does not replace a proper diet and gym program. ;)

My vote goes for monohydrate - it has been tried, tested and proven and cost a fraction of all the other variants.

lol, to be honest ive been training by myself and I just read what was on the label. Ive only been using it on training days though. Dont know if it makes it any better. Haha. But ill go off it today and start again in 3 months.

Okay so im a chop! :P

But are the servings im getting from sps no blast enough? Ive got 1 and a half tubs left of this stuff, so I want to finish them first before I move over to Mono.

5.5 grams per serving.
If you want the best from the monohydrate then cut it out (I'm sure after you're time off, you can use the N.O blast with the crea

Creatine is also produced by the liver, kidneys and pancreas. The reason you need to cycle it is because you dont want to suppress natural creatine synthesis in your body.

Yeah, my doctor also suggests that creatine be used on training days.
For me that equals 5 on 2 off.
I take my pre-workout supp before (which has creatine) and then 4-5g crea mono post-workout with my shake.
The creatine is then used up, no bloating or excess water retention.
My theory at least

I like this idea :)

Stripflow, the problem with propietary blends is that you never know how much you getting. Of that 5.5g how much is taurine and how much is creatine, etc... This is another reason why mono is best.

I've always used it the traditional way with the loading phase and maintainance phase. The idea is just to have a higher amount of creatine in the body than usual. When you come off you may lose some muscle volume, because creatine helps the muscles to retain water, but the actual muscle tissue will remain.

If you 88kg lean, then I'd opt for closer to 10g a day. With more body fat closer to 5g.

Sorry if I offend you

Good day,

I have been taking monohydrate Creatine for a while now and I can see the results,I recently decided to add 200Grams of Mono to 2kg's of Pure Protein and mix, so on training days I would take my 2 teaspoons prior to my session and also my Protein, on non training days I would still take my Protein shake 3 times a day and get a small amount of craetine in the system? This works for me but recon it depends on your Bodies tolerance to certain products?

Just a thought?

Good to hear bro, keep eating well and lifting heavy.

Mixing the creatine with the protein is a great idea for remembering to take it on off days. I'm just to lazy to do the initial mixing

sorry guys but I disagree on the mixing of creatine and "pure protein" (new USN packaging says it contains IGF-9, WTF is that? anyway moving on...)
with creatine monohydrate you need to create an insulin spike to make sure you absorb the crea.
so you need to have it with a carb based drink like apple juice or even mix it into an MRP, anything that contains carbs

Wouldnt you be killing 2 birds with 1 stone if you consumed it with sugary drink?
If you had to mix the two and consume post workout with a sweetened drink, you would get the insulin spike for breaking down protein better and absorbing creatine better?

Or am I wrong? :silly:

My diet only allows me the luxury of short sugars after a workout. Since I do not lift weights every day, I need to find an alternative form of supplementation for my creatine on off days when I cannot spike my insulin but still use the creatine to keep concentrations in the body elevated (I use my creatine the traditional way).

My solution is to have the creatine in small amounts following each meal with or without a whey supplement. That way there is less to absorb at once, so the chances of the creatine being better absorbed seem greater in the presence of the limited unsulin resonse one experiences following a meal full with complex carbs and protein.
