I was confused by the fact that the Glucose powder I purchased had Dextrose Monohydrate listed as its contents.

Read up on Wikipedia where it is explained that glucose (D-glucose) is referred to as dextrose in the food industry. So it's the same thing.

Then I see a chemical company selling raw products have both dextrose and glucose listed in their product lists. So I'm wondering if this is L-glucose then, which I read has the same molecular structure as D-glucose but cannot be broken down by living organisms to release energy. Hence its application isn low-calorie sweeteners.

Are you guys taking whey and dextrose in agreement that this is the same thing (dextrose and D-glucose)?

And what about maltodextrine, absorbed as rapidly as glucose, less sweet to tasteless. I've seen 2 local supplement companies selling it and was wondering whether anyone has an opinion on it.

Going to start on raw supplements soon.
