Hi guys ...
I was just wanting to know ur thoughts on the brand muscle works ... i have a mate who says its the best brand to hit south africa and its taking south by storm etc etc ... i have seen it but never used it .. is it good .. any first hand experience ?? personally i think its over rated and couldnt posibbly stand up to EVOX or SSN etc ...

What area of sa does your mate live?

So Evox/SSN is overrated? Whats the point? Dont know the stuff.

What makes you make such a bold statement that it couldnt live up to EVOX or SSN, have you tried it ? It's the big guys that are ripping you off because once they have the taste of money they can't stop..

So you think the rest of the big boys in any industry isn't a tad bit greedy ? Once you get a team in to work out how to make more money the first thing I believe they will do is lets cut out the money expensive recourse, 4grams of protein per serving, do you know how much they could save in 10 years? If you can provide me proof then I will eat my hat.

Im just saying the branding and reputation is better than that of a smaller company .. hence the reason u would preffer to purchase a Merc compared to a TATA motor vechile ... Im asking for ur opinions on muscle works not on other supplements like EVOX etc ... old school pro's who i have spoken to at have competed over seas with the likes of ronnie coleman and dorian yates say supplements from any brand is just makes ur piss very expensive .. what are ur thoughts and opinions on that matter ??

jo1 : mates lives in cape town .. but is starting a company here in Zim selling this stuff and is going around saying its as potent as gear and the best supplement the world has ever seen .. im just asking for opinions im not looking to get shot down ...

Are you a farm owner or have perhaps been a farm owner up to recently?

I tried the raw waxy maize a while back. It turned to glue when I added it to my shakes. Tried it with water and after a while it became like a pastes, almost like silicone or castor sugar. never tried anything else after this. To be honest it was some time back and things might have changed. I also might have been dof and mixed it wrong, but fok it was thick as thieves

i use wms and it dissolves real easy.mine is fine powder,finer than dextrose

@abc01 - im not a farmer just born and bred here and spent years schooling here and did my varsity down in durban for 3 years .. im back here now working for a south african based company .. i have had mates try that waxy maize supp and they complained as it went like paste and they couldnt consume it .. any one use any other products ??

I know this post is a bit old but I purchased some pure waxy maize from muscle works as well and shit does this stuff go thick with your whey post workout. Mixing it with water and after a while I need a spoon to eat this shit as I cant drink it anymore it is just to thick. Is there any othe rpure waxy maize products out there that are not to expensive?

Try drinking it apart from your whey. Just with plain water and dilute it more

Same experience I had. Stuff becomes thick as Hell. I still have it lying at home. At one point I was convinced they sold me maizena. I've used cytomaize from SSN and this never happened. I'm not sure why this happens with the muscle works pure waxy maize. Mayb I mixed it wrong, but I tried numerous ways and after 5 mins it was so thick I could use it to waterproof a toilet.

Hey bones same here also reckon they sold me maizena as it gets way to thick to drink. I will be pissed if it is maizena as that stuff is very cheap. If it is true waxy maize then it is the cheapest on the market

As far as I know waxy maize does get very thick maybe there is less waxy maize in a serving cytomaize than in a serving muscle worx waxy?
Also muscle worx is quite a well known brand and I dont think they would put their name on the line to make some extra bucks and the supplement companies get their raw products for next to nothing!

Just changed to their superior whey...will keep posted, although i only assess the situation after a good few weeks so dont hold your breath :lol:

i used to use cold fussion grape by evox and i used to put a serving of waixy maize with the cold fussion and it would thinkening up hectic, it was like drining grape jelly , i fucking loved it

I use their Nitro gen-X and I must say it gives great energy for only R219 p/month...Haven't tried their other products yet. Depends on what you're looking for. If you want whey/creatine/dextrose/BCAA/L=Glutamine etc go to www.basicsupplements.co.za They have raw supplements and are very cheap.

It also dpeends on how you drink Nitro Oxide. If you drink it with 300ml + 2 scoops you get an energy spike but you are dead after your workout. It's quite cheap and effective I must say.

All depends on budget and goal man.
