which of these two would be better quality. i know that iso pro is pure isolate and optimum has concentrate and isolate but surely it hasnt been whey protein of the year for 5 years for nothing. what benefit if any does concentrate have over isolate.

on saturday i bought my usual tub of isopro blueberry but this batch tastes awful. so awful infact that i almost threw up with an unsettled stomach. it has a milky taste to it and being a juice type protein, that really doesnt go well. i called dischem but they say that batches differ so they cant swap it out. luckily i managed to sell it for R50 of the price.

now i want to get the best quality protein around but dont want to spend on O N hydrolysed as i dont see the benefit. which of these two would be the better?

why do you spend (waste) so much money if you can just use basic supplements? if you dont like the raw (no flavour) taste, buy a brand which taste you like and go half/half? they have isolate and concentrate. there is a thread a while back about the diffs between the two. but basically the iso is just absorbed a little quicker than the concentrate.

after so many different opinions, doubt has started to form in my mind. thats why i pay for the expensive brands. just bough a tub of ON whey 20 minutes ago. the latest advise from the so called experts is that the brands in sa dont undergo fda testing so who is to say whats in the container. i know- im too paranoid about every little detail. now i that i have peace of mind with an expensive supp, lets hope the reults start coming

Results are more determined by diet and hard training then expensive supplements.

They do go for tests buddy. Those dickheads are trying to sell u the expensive brand to make target.
If the brand is in Dischem, it would have been through tests. U think dischem will sel stuff they dont trust.
A friend of mine bought myofusion a while ago, it tasted kak. He took it back and they exchanged it.
Try different whey's, and stick to the taste u like.

Regards

The day I stopped bothering about supplements (brand, quality etc) was the day most of my gains started...

In my mind you only need 3. any good whey, a preworkout that works for you (if you use one), and a multivit. That is it...

A person with a good diet, will always outperform somebody with a average diet with all the bells and wistles of the supplement world...

You may not believe me on this day... but one day... you will come to know.

Nicely said Thunderbeast, whey is whey is whey is whey! So stop worrying about which brand does what. Try get majority of your protein in from food and then supplement when you have too, or never, protein shakes will do jack shit for you if you don't have a solid nutritional foundation planned out.

DJ never just put together X with Y because he sucked that out of his head, its because it gives you nutritional value, and a balanced calorie intake from healthy fats, protein and carbs, and including green veggies. Supplements are just that to supplement what you not getting in, however Jay can tell you what he likes he gets his nutrition in from food, he just gets a cheque from Muscle Science.

Bud i feel your pain with regards to the Isopro taste. Im sure its top notch isolate but it tastes like shit. I bought a big tub with one of those 750g boxes. I almost puked after all of my gym sessions. I just chucked the 1/2 tub i had left in the bin. Screw that! When i buy my whey each month i buy whatever whey is on special at dischem and they always have a special on whey. Like the other guys say, whey is whey is whey
