It all depends if your kidneys are healthy or not, I am limited to 1gram currently due to kidney issues, people with healthy kidneys can get away with 2 grams, if you start to notice changes in your urine tests, drop down .5 and another until it balances.

Damn, thats alot. Are you seeing better results now than you did on say 2g/kg LBM? Reason I ask is surely there's a limit to what your body can synthesize per day?

Sorry guys Apparently it is true, cause its happened to certain people already, so I’m not taking any chances !!

Sorry we talking about kgs, dj is right 4 grams per kg, or just over. I take 2 grams per kg and that seems to be a good number for me with kidney problems..

deadgoat, bump that up to 3.3 for now, the body need at least 1g of protein per LB of body weight(2.2g per kg) for healthy organ function, cell regeneration, hair and nail growth, upping that to i would suggest a minimum of 1.5g per pound even on maintaince.

reading this is going to make my life more expensive... looks like im not taking in enough to put on weight which probably does explain my frustration at this plateau i'm on.. been taking in 1.5g/pound and at max about 300g a day at 183 pounds (83kgs think)

* just for interests sake slightly off topic, is there a difference in protein content in chicken breasts depending on whether it is free range or not? read some article on the activity levels of chickens effecting the protein count which could make sense, insight would be greatly appreciated :)

u can still grow on 1.5g per pound dude,if u have hit a brick wall why not try the following :
change your exercise order, starting with the last exercise first, slightly lower the weight and get another 2-3 reps out, slightly increase calorie intake by 200calories, take a rest day every 2 days, and do this for 2 weeks and see if it breaks the plateau.

If you have any issues with your kidneys don't use creatine, as it will raise your blood pressure which will impact your kidneys again. If you do use creatine use CEE as it has less effect on kidneys and I am actually running it now and my blood pressure is not effected and my urine tests are looking better.

Again, if you do not drink enough water, this is where the basis of problems comes in when using creatine and strain on your kidneys, as they need to work twice as hard, and those filters in your kidneys start to enlarge allowing protein to pass through, and protein is way to large to be passing through your urine that it can actually be detected in urine tests.
