Evox WHEY protein

Hi guys,
So I bought an electronic food scale this week , so just out of interest sake I've started weighing a lot of things :blush: . I currently use the EVOX protein range and have observed the following:

Synergy WHEY protein:
2 heaped scoops = 32g which = 24g of protein
My measurements:
2 BIG heaped scoops = 24g which = 18g of protein (25% less)

100% Whey protein:
3 heaped scoops = 36g which = 26g of protein
My measurements:
3 BIG heaped scoops = 28g which = 20g of protein (23% less)

Ok, so this might be a bit petty, but every bit counts right? I mean If I was having 5 shakes a day I would expect to get 126g of protein, instead I'm getting about 96g. Over a month that's a difference of 900g of protein! Could a manufacturer not just supply a scoop that when its full to the top it = the exact amount (no need for heaping the scoop)
Anyway just wondering what your thoughts are on this? :huh:

a Scoop size is a vry rough indication but should probably not be out by as much as you found. Im sure the amount of powder would correlate with what they say on the tub (im sure the 2kg tub contains 2kg powder). That is exactly why its better to weigh off everything

Yeah, I'm sure the tub is 2.2kgs. just sucks that I wasn't getting what I thought, in terms of the "dosage". Will definitely be weighing everything from now on.

I agree with you on the scoop size thing though. Put a scoop in there that when you fill it flat to the top its 20 or 25grams. This heaped scoop shit i also dont understand. I can heap that MOFO pritty high

Personally i dont like,use or advice ppl to take EVox....they suck. Really. Won 1 of their synergy whey's at a show about a year or so ago. I used it and it tasted nice...dangerous. I dont trust whey's that taste nice.lol
I was thick,not good at all. i know ther are casien,soy and so on in ther too, but still...wtf
I have used other protein blend protteins and they wernt close to that shit quality.
BUT, that is just my opinion. I saw on older bottles they had that they said a certain amount of protein per serving, BUT wen u weork it out to the per 100mg it doesnt add up??!!

I use synergy whey and i like it. Read the label - added benefits like digestive enzymes etc etc.
3 Heaped scoops will get you to your serving size. Sucks, but i can live with that.

aaah Romp3L I know exactly what you're talking about. I know their 2kg(2000g) whey protein lable said something like +- 70 servings. With a 36g serving size (36x70) = 2520 or 2.52kg and not 2kgs. Guess they were using their own shit heaped scoops too.

Anyway they fixed that now. Im using their Lime flavour synergy whey, it's a nice change from the usual choc and vanilla flavours.

I like Biogen,USN,SSN,SPS and Universal.
Those are great. The extra R10 or so u spend extra is worth it. It is great and trusted.

There is some new brand selling at dischem, I saw it in the ladies version of M.E. I cant remember the name but they are selling raws now, my guess is it's still pretty expensive but they are selling the flavours too to flavour your shakes so maybe worth checking out. I'll get the name if you'd like

Finally someone else who agrees with me...
Back in 2008 I discovered the same problem while using Synergy!

I even had it checked out by our lab (I work at a food factory) and they confirmed it.

I reported this to Evox (a guy called J.P Naude- head of marketing I believe)

Got no response for them so I just switched over to basic supplements.

Man and I thought I was going crazy back then!

The funniest part is they could have actually increased their sales by up to 30% on all protein powders if only they've included a half descent scoop!

I weighed the scoop and found it light. So i added some - big deal. I still use Evox.

I have been looking at Muscle Works and also their range of pure supplements... seems a little better prices than the Pro-10 and free delivery countrywide...
