Anyone used it that can help me?

THanks,

I think 97% of the product is carbs. So you can work it out. You need 30grams carbs after training so that is around 33grams of maltodextrin. Just mix with water to the strenght you prefer.

A usefull tip: it has been scientifically proven that a ratio 2:1 maltodextrin to fructose replenishes your glycogen stores around 30% faster. The entire powerbar nutrition brand is based on this ratio. Its the biggest selling sportsnutrition brand (energy supplements) in USA. You can buy 1kg bags of fructose from dischem for about R47-00. Its a dirt cheap combo which essentially is the same/better than most energy drinks you find on the market

You can google Asker Jeukendrup. He is the man behind the research. Aslo go onto the powerbar.com website. You can read about the reason why they use this ratio there as well.

The above article also explains the research. Im sure there will be more available on the web. The focussed on marathon runners but essentially the princilple is the same

THanks for the feedback, another question, do I replace a meal with it and can I add it to my protein shake twice a day?

Depending on ur goal u can add it to ur protein shake.

Its never a good idea to replace whole food with a meal replacement. Only if u really don't have the time at that moment to prepare something.

Then yes, by adding it to ur whey it becomes more like a mass builder and wil also cause a spike in insulin levels.

Thanks guys, once again this forum has proven to be of great help...

Now, last question... :-) Do I add it to both my whey protein shakes (7am & 5pm) or only after training (5pm)?

THanks again!!!!!!!!!!!

I can give you my opinion. You can get a educated opinion from DJ.

I gym in the morning early mostly. I then take the carb mix i explained (30grams carbs) and 40grams whey. This serves as my breakfast. 2hrs later i have some oats and whey in shake form. Then you carry on normally with your meal at lunch; late aftenoon; dinner and before bed. I try to take carbs only at breakfast and around training. If you keep this strategy i reckon you are on the right path.

Get hold of DJ. He is the resident guru for dieting.
