What is the ideal amount of glutamine and taurine to take post workout with my whey and maltodextrine/dextrose mix. I usually buy a product that has already combined the two but would like to mix my own. I also like to take another serving of glutamine at bed time with a high protein meal and a test booster. Also want to add ZMA to this.
I would propose 6-7gram L-Glutamine and 3-4grams Taurine, depending on your body size and weight.
Taurine is quite a beneficial amino acid. Did a lot of research on it last year.
The glutamine at bed with the zma is also a good idea, and a casein if you can afford one, the slow release protein is always a winner for staying anabolic during sleep.
I started taking taurine a couple of weeks ago. 2g on non training days and 4g on training days (2g before and 2g after training). I feel that it gives me more endurence but cant really say if it helps me recover faster. I'll continue with this 12weeks on and 4 weeks off for a year and then make a final call on it. Will also be following the same with L carnitine (3g/day); Arginine AKG (8g/day); B alanine (5g/day). Have only started with the taurine & carnitine and will add the others from Desember.
