healthy supplementation was created by sirtreetrunk
Hi all

My mom who is just over 50 was diagnosed with cancer 6 months ago and with the disease and treatments she has lost an awful amount of weight ( now sitting at 49kg ) she is trying to put weight back on but she won't and can't put anything unclean in her ( chemicals , preservatives , sugar -cancer feeds off sugar . ) Can anyone suggest certain foods or shakes that will go with her strict diet and increase her weight ?

Any responses are welcome

Thanks all

Natural causes is a book that tells you what supplements and foods to eat for different diseases, and has cancer in it... Go look for natural routes while you use the medical way... This way she will feel better while she is on treatment.. Good luck.

My grandad had cancer. It was really bad to see his condition deteriorate. Its not something I would wish on anyone.

Buy her a quality multi vit bud, as mr pump said look for natural routes... Quality foods like chicken, potato, oats etc certainly won't do damage.

I feel for you bro, good luck

hey guys.. This is a very good friend of mine and his mum is very close to me.. She has a diet all made out and most of the books relating to healthy eating, what she is looking for is something to help with calorie intake as she struggles with the amount of food I think.. Would anything from the herbal life range be good?

Hey Bud! It might be beneficial to check out the site superfood.co.za

Some of the healthiest stuff available you will find there. Hemp protein is a good protein source. I think it has the highest bio availability as well. I went through the raw and green stage once and got allot of stuff from this site

All the best

As much as it pains me to say it, Herbalife is natural and would potentially be good, Solgar also do some meal replacements which arent great for those in strength training but for your mum could also be potentially viable.

Another brand is Forever Living - similar setup to Herbalife without the same stigma.

Also check out Pepto Pro - as far as I'm aware they are the only supplementation brand cleared by the sports bodies in SA for use by athletes because they are clean products and fully tested.

I hope these provide some other avenues for you to look at and help your Mum.

Have a look at bovine colostrum powder. If you need help in obtaining it, I can help with bulk supply. (Hope I am not breaking any rules here?) It is amazing stuff.
