Hi Guys,

I'm new to the forum and hoping to learn. My goals are to drop body fat and gain lean muscle.

I started training seriously about 3 months ago. So far I have dropped 13kg in weight, which was helped by a course of clen for 10weeks (2 weeks on 2 weeks off).

Stats
Age - 28
Weight - 122
Height - 185

My diet is very clean Monday - saturday. Sunday is my cheat day where I eat anything I want.
Typical breakfast egg whites on rye or oats. Lunch grilled chicken and veg. Snack of a bran muffin after gym. Dinner would be grilled fish or chicken with veg. Average daily consumption would be 1500-1600 calories.
On average 2L water a day.

Training - Cardio
20 minutes of treadmill treadmill a day at 5.5kph

20minutes cross trainer a day.

Weight training

Monday - chest
Tuesday - shoulders
Wednesday - legs
Thursday - legs
Friday - arms
Typically 7 exercises per Muscle group 3 sets & 10 reps.

Over the past couple weeks my weight loss has slowed down so looking for advise on anything I'm doing wrong.

I do have a training partner who has advised me not to take any supplements. So not protein shakes no pre work out etc.

Cheers

Euan

Thinking of trying the keto diet. From what I read it sounds like the way to go.

It is a brilliant diet but requires much discipline and knowledge. Not for anyone starting out that's for sure.

I'm curious what their reasoning is?

No offence to you or your friend, but this is what came to mind the second I read your friends' reasoning:

And also, you've been on clen, but supplements are "unnatural"?

I'm not saying you have to take supplements, and it's great if you can reach all your goals with food only, but supplements can be a valuable asset in achieving fitness goals, and well, claiming it's not natural...sorry, but that's silly.

What would you recommend supplement wise consider my goals are to drop quite allot of body fat and gain muscle?

Previously when I was trying I would take ON's whey and a pre workout like jack3d.

Whey protein is excellent, especially as a quick digesting source of protein directly after training.

jack3d gives quite a kick, but I decided to go off it and am thankful I did, eventually it gave me no good effects at all.

Regarding muscle building, I'd say supps like whey protein and amino acids such as glutamine and BCAAs are excellent.

Personally, the two supplements I never go without are whey protein and creatine. The positive results and effects of these supplements are well documented and researched.

Regarding fat loss, there I've always been a great fan of good nutrition and solid training, I'm not too knowledgeable on fat burning supplements, maybe other people on the forum can help you regarding that.
