taking time OFF training was created by morning77
hello guys and girls, i am taking time off training. i am on my 5th day now but it is HELL i tell you. i want to gym so badly.. the reason why im doing this is to give my body a break of course.. I have been training 6 days a week for a year and a half now, i could feel my body needed a break. ANYWAY, i wanted to ask, how much muscle can I loose? my diet is top notch when i train but now that i have taken off training i also lowered my protein intake on purpose to give my kidneys a break and im drinking lots of water to detox my body. i feel really good to be honest, but i have lost some weight, im wondering if its fullness( muscle glycogen) or actually muscle tissue? my fat and carb intake has been quiet high, but in moderation, and still keeping the foods clean . i weighed 112 when i stopped gyming and my diet, and now i weigh about 108 or 109 .. keep in mind im natural and not taking anything

You should be drinking loads of water through the entire year anyway. Just about every biological function of the human body is aided by supplying suffice water. Water intake is particularly important for renal function - so you should be focusing on drinking lots of water WHILE you eat lots of protein. If you're still worried about large amounts of protein ingestion, eat more vegetables high in potassium and magnesium. Lowering protein for better renal function is only applicable if you are already suffering from kidney disease. Eat at least 1g protein/lb body weight whilst not training and you'll be fine .

Remember to vary diet with different foods. Forget "clean" and just eat a balanced and natural. You'll only really make bodily regress if you use this as an opportunity to pig out and be lazy.

Just keep active in some way. Do *something*, take up a activity that involves some movement and breathing. How long you taking off for?

TL;DR: Eat variety, eat enough, eat natural, eat balanced, move around.
IMO it's more important to take time of any supplements/ aids you are using.

thanks for that reply, ye by eating clean i mean more like healthy food but still a good variety, like rye bread isn't particularly "clean" but still healthy... etc

im taking off 7 days, i will do this every 3-4 months,i feel so awesome already and ready to kill the weights, my joints feel better..etc.

well its been very hot lately, so i just swim like 4 times a day,and do stuff around the house, its not like im super lazy.

the reason why im decreasing the protein is because, i actually went to the doctor and got my kidneys tested and my urea levels where too high. everything else was perfectly in range

Sounds like you'll be fine bro. Progressive overload and periodization is important sure, but so is a bit of rest.
