Pain killers / Blockers for workouts was created by AlexRon
Morning All

Did a search on this and nothing came up so I've started a new topic on this.

This really is for discussion, I'm putting this out there as I don't know the pros and cons on this and am wondering if I cant experiment with this.

Would taking pain killers of some sort be ok if you want to up you heavy weight lifting from 6reps to say 12, trying to breakthrough the pain barrier at the end of your rep range?

Is this something that happens, do bodybuilders do this?

Is this safe to do in moderation?

Bad idea. You will pick up serious injuries by taking painkillers.

years
ago I asked a doc for NSAID's to enable me to train while injured. He
said to do so was like driving your car while ignoring the glaring oil
light..

Recreational/ frequent use of NSAIDs will destroy your stomach. Alexron, just remember pain is a necessary signal, it's telling your body something. You can't just think of muscles, tendons, joints and bones also play a role in determining strength.
