Hi Guys

Got my first pair of Vibram toe shoes today, and can't wait to hit legs to test them out! Anyone have a pair or experience with these shoes and heavy training?

I've got a pair that I use on legs days and love them, You really feel the difference on square and calves.

Go big or go home...

I read an article last month regarding Vibrams. They are currently giving a certain amount of $ refund to every customer who purchased a pair due to "false advertising" in the States. Basically Vibrams have acknowledged that they have no factual proof that any of there health benefit claims are true.
I also have a few pairs and was upset when I read this so I forwarded the link to Andrew Hudson who confirmed that he is aware f it and it's true.

That is a shame yes, but what did you experience when training with them?
I have heard lots of people say that you get to activate muscles that have never been necessary to activate, as normal shoes keep you quite stabilised already. For example more glute activation when squatting

How does a pair of vibram kso's activate the glutes more than say a pair of chuck taylors?

Take a slightly wide stance, break at the hips, sit back with your weight on your heels, go ATG -> glutes activated surely? That's what it comes down to imo, but yea I've never tried these shoes out. Of course, squatting in regular trainers or running shoes is not ideal because you want a hard sole shoe for squats, but how does one flat sole pair of shoes activate more muscles than another pair of flat sole shoes?

These vibrams must be very nice for deadlifting though.

I Train with Nike Shox, which have quite a large heel platform. So I can imagine, having your feet flat and not at an angle might enable more stabilizer muscles in your Glutes and hammies to work a bit harder. It's not about magically activating more muscles.

Yep but Nike Shox are terrible shoes for squatting bro. So you will definitely notice an improvement. Any shoes with extra cushioning are a big no.

Gotta break those flat shoes out for back and leg days.

To you it may look like I just did a push-up... But in fact, I just bench-pressed the world.

Its legs day, legs day, gotta get down on legs day.

I quite enjoy my vibrams on leg day, especially squat and calves!
Also have jogged in them a few times(raod and treadmill) and my lower legs were seriously
stiff after!
