okey buds not sure if this topic has been posted before ,but I'm just interested in everybody's views with regards to when is the best time to train or is it just an individual preference.
I personally train as early as possible in the morning....my reasons are as follows:
1)I feel fantastic whole day
2)I think test is highest in the morning
3)and I also have the rest of the day to get my food in

but generally just curious how alot of the forum buds train and what works best for them.

if everything in the world made sense, life would be senseless.

I struggle to train with real intensity unless I've had at least 2 meals.
My ideal time is around midday but this is rarely possible so I usually have to go in the eve

Hey bud..

I LOVE my 5am morning gym! And even better in winter! No need for a pre work out for me in the winter months. Hahaha! And I like the mornings for the exact reason you say.. ;)

I have to add bru, one year my training bud refused to train early mornings in the winter and I use the guy for shoulder and chest days. LOL! So I compromised and trained in the evening for the entire winter season. Took a while to switch all my nutritional requirements to accommodate this.. But bru, the feeling in terms of strength and focus was way different. And in a lot of ways better. I made some awesome gains that winter hey!
I think it was also seeing a different crowd etc, just the whole vibe was lank different. It was a nice change. Good to mix things up.

I still prefer my early morning though. If you just a morning person I guess it works.

Hope you are pushing hard my bru! Sure you are lank excited to start your cycle.

Stay strong bud!
Ron

I have learnt to fake a meeting towards lunch. That is my ideal time. Otherwise in the evenings.
I agree with LXIX in that I battle to train decently if I haven't eaten.

I have very little juice in the tank to lift in the mornings...I actually start sort of "falling asleep" while lifting. I kinda get sleepy if I go in the morning... it's weird.

Though... when I do go in the morning, to lift, I usually klap some oats before hitting the road on my 40min drive to the gym closest to the office. If I go to play squash I skip the oats... But after about 30 mins of squash I start feeling SUPER hungry.

Based on a normal person's 24 hour day, best physical performance (strength, cardiovascular efficiency, reaction time) is between 1400 - 1700 but highest alertness is before noon.

I prefer training midday or just prior to that, I feel fresh and light, ready to move! :)
