Biceps??!! was created by mcpump
I have large shoulders, lads, think middle and big quads but since I've started building muscle 6years ago biceps and actually triceps also have been my week point. When I get on cycle shoulders, lads ect. expand like crazy but arms always seems to stay behind or not grow as fast. Long thinish type arms (used to be a boxer)

I'm wanting to know what I can do to get arms bigger or in line with rest of my body? Will it be suitable if I do biceps twice a week or will this be over training them? I for instance I know that calfs and abs can be done everyday without over training.

Thanx!

You spelling is terrible.. Try training them twice a week and only a max of 45 seconds break between sets. Drop your weight and just hammer that arm with perfect for, extending and contracting, focusing on exactly that muscle you trying to hit.. stick to basic exercises

Like Pump said drop the weight and focus on the contraction all the way from lengthening to shortening the muscle. Arnold very seldom
DB curled with more than 12kg and had some of the most impressive BI's of all time !
when I see chops curling huge DB's but are using momentum and there delts to lift the weight

Go big or go home...

Compounds like deadlift, squats, Bench press & Pull ups (or variations of like pull downs) should form the basis of any bulking routine.

But isolation exercises are there to target specific muscle groups. The big mistake many guys make is that they try and impress everyone around by going to heavy.

Look how many guys do overhead/shoulder/Arnold presses, Curls etc. with moer heavy weights. As Rhino says, FORM is critical in isolation exercises. Focus totally on the muscle, making sure it's contracting and relaxing the full range of motion. If other muscles are recruited in the process then your form is wrong and/or you're lifting too heavy.

Good judgement comes from experience.
Experience comes from bad judgement.

Biceps have also been a lagging body part of me in the past however I found that dropping G the weight and hitting both Biceps and Triceps with volume via a German Volume Training routine to be quite effective.

Happy Training MCPUMP.

I'm not a big fan hitting bis and tris twice a week. By that I mean two sessions dedicated to only those two groups. Reason being that both work indirectly with all push and pull movements.

What I'm currently doing is one session dedicated to bis and tris and then again biceps with (after) back and tris with (after) chest. For example 4 sets DB curls light weight but concentrating on form and focusing on squeezing and "feeling" the muscle work. Then followed by 2 sets 21's. By the second set of 21's you will be pumped and muscle quite depleted due to the heavier compound movements like deadlift and barbell rows. Working quite nicely for me

Size Matters
