What is everyone's opinion regarding training programs?

Is it better to always stick to the same program or follow one for 6-8 weeks and get a new one or Keep some exercises but try new thing regularly?

I have been debating this with a friend of mine. He want to stick to all the same stuff every week as it allows for him to go heavy because the actual exercise becomes easy to do.

However, lately I feel that doing new and challenging exercises will promote more growth and prevent "getting use to a specific exercise"

Off course there are certain things I'll always keep in my program ie. Dumbbell press (shoulders and chest), Squads, Dead lifts ect.

I'd like to hear opinions regarding this.

Thanks.

Your body doesn't grow when it gets used to things. You need to constantly be surprising it in order to get the best gains. Stop worrying about how strong you think you are. Unless you're a powerlifter your focus needs to be how you look. If I struggle with 12jg dumbbells then that's what I use. I don't let my ego get in the way and screw up my for or risk injury to then go to much bigger weights. My trainer changes the routine every single week.

i Believe in muscle stimulation and form, id rather go lighter with my weights but increase the intensity of the workout, i also change my routine every 4-5 weeks, have getting better results because of it, its like if you do strait bar curls every week after 2 to 3 weeks you get use to it and don't feel the same burn as when you started , just my two cents

Some good replies.

Thanks.

I've been thinking the same lately. Also, Changing things brings the excitement in and gives you good focus and energy.

I'd like to know what some of the veterans on here think and do.
