Hey guys,

my girlfriend recently started gyming 3 times a week and I've been joining her in addition to my weight training.

My question is, if I do a 20 min HIIT session (virgin active treadmill says I burn 370 calories) and some abs and glutes may I then add that many, or atleast a percentage of that, extra calories to my diet for that day?

I love eating and felt so full and tight after doing it the other day, I just worry that 300 calories on the treadmill doesn't really equate to taking in an additional 300 calories of food?

Currently sitting at just under 3600 calories: 245P, 415C, 105F

Thanks for any advice :)

I thought about this as well the other day, I too am curious as to whether you could do such a thing.

I mean if fat gain / loss is as simple as calorie deficit vs surplus then in theory it should be fine, right?

For some Abs are made with lighting & angles... For others they are made in the kitchen.

Mathematically you should be able to add extra calories if your goal is bulking. Law of thermodynamics still stand. But if I had do it, I wouldn't balance the daily cals immediately. I'd just enjoy the extra calorie expenditure & cardiovascular fitness. Although it's bro-science (bro-science does not mean bullsh!t) that many pro's do it so they stay leaner while bulking, arithmatically you could can achieve by eating less and not doing cardio, but it doesn't have the same affect. Can't cite, source or explain further - not an expert on cardio.
