Hey guys

What type of training or program does everyone use? Who has a coach , and who of you just go by feel on the day without a specific outline?

I am currently following Layne Norton's PHAT program.

For some Abs are made with lighting & angles... For others they are made in the kitchen.

I have always run same program, three day split:
Day 1 chest, biceps, forearms, cardio
Off
Day 2 lats, tris, abs, lower back, cardio
Off
Day 3 shoulders and legs, cardio
Off
Repeat

That being said I kill myself in the gym, no cheating, good form, heavy weights and total amount of time under pressure.
1000 calories surplus on workout days, 500 surplus on off days

All bodies different though.

Rest is so important for muscle mass

Also shock my body with different exercises each time I repeat

@Fillet, its always interesting to see how more knowledgeable people train. Lots of different ways to skin a cat. Saw a guy at gym today with his Flex magazine, doing one of those "mr Olympia" programs of the pros.... All good and well that he is there but that program is most likely just going to burn him out.

For sure bud, I have seen some guys do some fcked up training - IMO.

I have tried and tested many routines and can only pack on the mass with one killer workout followed by a complete rest day every second day but I shit you not from Day 1 I still feel stiffness on those muscle groups by day 3 and that's five days later. IMO Rest more important that overtraining. I have seen guys get more results from undertraining than overtraining. Also everytime I repeat a repeat I change my rep range so day 1 to 3 first week is 15 reps, next repeat 12 then 8 - back to 15. Except Calves and Forearms which require a higher rep range.

yeah exactly ,there is truth to the "you have to confuse the muscle". I read a study somewhere, think it was on suppversity that there is a fine line between changing things up too much. your muscles have to adapt first then you change.

But i also do the same type of thing, currently full body 3x a week.

1 exercise per bodypart
day 1 - 5 x 5
day 2 - 3 sets to failure (8-12 reps)
day 3 - can be explosive work or just a lighter pump day (15-20 reps)

Monday: Legs - Weights (Because everybody is doing Chest)
Tuesday: Back & Core
Wednesday: Chest & Bi's
Thursday: Calisthenics type day & Core (Focus muscle-ups and forearms)
Friday: Legs - Conditioning and stability
Saturday: Own bodyweight training & Core (Focus Pull-ups, push-ups, dips and maybe a quick upper-body circuit)

Every 2nd Saturday, do a "Cindy" cross-fit workout to monitor my progress - She is a killer!!

More into fitness, so don't go too heavy and everything high intensity.

Works wonders for my goals and train every body-part twice (although being indirect).

Sore today, strong tomorrow!!!

Oupa, what do you mean the "2nd" MI40 6 week program. I love Bens programmes and have followed MI40 and MI40x (CEP). Just asking cause if I've missed one of his programs somewhere I'd love to get my hands on it.

I'd love to get my hands on the incredible bulk! Not sure how we'd arrange transfer of the file without contravening the forum rules. Any ideas? Can you upload it as an attachment on the forum?
